Guest guest
Dakshina Murthy is about unbroken silence and also unbroken flow of the thought that is attention directing thought towards the self.Communication through silence is much faster than through words. The one without a second. It can travel miles instantaneously. Why is this so? It is faster because silent communication is can only be experienced and not communicated. This is called attention directing silence. Ramana Maharishi said ask NAAN Yaar or Who Am I? It is my opinion that the attention directing thought process needs to be explored even more and every ones experience in the Ramana Way can help. One of the simplest is to see your soul. All of us need to see it then the silence grows on you. How do you do that. The stillness at the time of waking gives us that glimse. It is fleeting but you can catch it if you can be conscious before you go to sleep. The eyes play an important part. Ramana Maharishi eyes had conveyed alot of experiences to many. Finally try communicating through your heart and not the mind. It can provide very dramatic differences interpretation to your own doubts. Many times I have found that books only confirm these interpretations. Try to experience then the net discussion will be more direct and interesting A silent observer R Ravi SankarJohn <ramanachala (AT) onetel (DOT) com> wrote: Question: How does this silent power work? Sri Ramana Maharshi: Language is only a medium for communicating one’s thoughts to another. It is called in only after thoughts arise. Other thoughts arise after the "I"-thought rises and so the "I"-thought is the root of all conversation. When one remains without thinking one understands another by means of the universal language of silence. Silence is ever speaking. It is a perennial flow of language, which is interrupted by speaking. These words I am speaking obstruct that mute language. For example, there is electricity flowing in a wire. With resistance to its passage, it glows as a lamp or revolves as a fan. In the wire it remains as electric energy. Similarly also, silence is the eternal flow of language, obstructed by words. What one fails to know by conversation extending to several years can be known instantly in silence, or in front of silence. Dakshinamurti and his four disciples are a good example of this. This is the highest and most effective language.
