Guest guest
THUS SPAKE RAMANA - 22 The difficulty is that man thinks that he is the doer. But it is a mistake. It is the Higher Power that does everything and he is the tool. If he accepts that position he is free from troubles. Otherwise he courts them. Take for instance the figure at the base of the gopuram, the temple tower, which is made to appear as bearing the burden of the tower on its shoulders. Its look and attitude picture great strain while bearing the very heavy burden. But think. The tower is built on earth and it rests on its foundations. The figure is part of the tower. Is it not funny? So is the man who takes on himself the sense of doing.
Guest guest
Today when I was saying my daily prayers, I don't know why (may be a cumulative effect of Jnana Yoga & Ramana Maharshi's teachings), but I said that its not me praying/singing, its God (the Higher Power/ Universal Awareness) doing it. He is just using me as a tool/ voice-box. And the whole experience was so different from normal. I could instantly relax and just sit back and enjoy hearing the prayers coming out of my mouth and they sounded so nice. This, then I realised, has to be our attitude in everything we do. Thats where Jnana Yoga and Karma Yoga meet each other. Felt like sharing.
