Guest guest
My wife and I were recently at arunachala and we climbed to the top. We were surprised to see the sage there with his devotees, not knowing he lived up there. To us, it was a distraction, since we went to sit with the silence of shiva. The sages helpers were pushy, insisting on a donation. We ignored them after paying homage to the guru, and meditated on top of arunachala. The best place however to meditate in my opinion is the old hall at the ashram, where ramana spent most of his time. His presence is very much alive there, as it is also at virapaksha cave. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Reply: Indeed, Sir, you are not the first to have found the phenomenon atop Arunachala distracting and annoying. Good that you have found the Peace of the Old Hall. The Essential Ramana Arunachala is in the Heart, where disturbance can not enter. Sage and practical advice for members who contemplate such a hike is to keep tight hold of your wallet, and preferably not to take too many Rupees with you on the ascent. A warm welcome to this List. ~ ~ ~ ~ MODERATOR ~ ~ ~ ~
