Guest guest
Dear Sachin, There is a record of a dialogue between Bhagavan and Kavyakanta Ganapathi Muni (published in one of the Maharshi newsletters), where Bhagavan explains that the vasanas are present closest to the Heart and not the brain. Having said that, there is no need to even notice where the focus is in the body. As long as it is automatic (not forced by an act of 'will'), any spot is fine. Performing vichara and His grace will lead one to abide as one's Self. The spot of focus matters only to people attempting to explicitly raise the kundalini through excercises involving the body, breath, and mind. This could potentially be dangerous if not done under the direct physical supervision of an adept Guru. Bhagavan maintained that vichara was sufficient to raise the kundalini and make it sink back in its source, the Hridayam. A point worth noting is that all other yoga methods assume that the body-mind complex is real and work with it to transcend it; vichara is unique in that it questions the very existence of the individual-I! Again, these 2c are from 'me'. In Him. Arun
