Guest guest
Timeless in Time¨ by A.R. Natarajan A thread of book reviews on English Ramana-biographies is started herewith. I am starting with the latest one, which is also the most detailed. "Timeless in Time¨ by A.R. Natarajan is rather thick - with 401 full written pages and a larger book format. The book was published in 1999 from Ramana Maharshi Centre for Learning, Bangalore, which does lots of Ramana-publishings. Meanwhile it is already in the 3rd ed. A.R. Natarajan has written it in his unique style, good in order to grasp the meaning of the text and with many black and white photos. It contains lots of details on Ramana's life and likewise on devotees (well known and less well known). Sri Natarajan gives also indirectly his understanding of the man Ramana and his teaching (The Ramana Way) and while reading one feels the spirit of a heartfelt and understanding Indian devotee. All sources from which he had taken his material are found in a separate most detailed index of references and this can also serve as an extensive bibliography (there is also a general bibliography at the end). He has indeed done a very well researched and devoted work I can recommend reading very much. For those who already know the classics by Narasimha Swami and Osborne it is a good addition. If you are living inside EU you can lend the book for free from the Ramana Maharshi Online-Lending-Library (only mailing-costs to send to the next borrower must be covered). Please see at: www.ramanamaharshi.info/Eu/home.html or just write back to me. The book is waiting here for its first reader Who wants it to read ??
