Pandava thootha needs help

Respected Anbil Ramaswamy,

 

My Namaskarams to you.

 

I went to India in February and went to Kancheepuram and visited lot of divya

desams there. One of the temples i visited was pandava thootha temple near

bus stand . Such a beautiful diety of Krishna (28 feet , limestone diety) but

even bhoga offering is not going on daily for Supreme Lord here.

 

This visva rupa form is shown to Janamejaya (son of pariksit Maharaj) by the

Supreme Lord.

 

Temple is taken care of by one vaishnava family and they do not receive any

support.( In fact , they are getting oppositions from different side. ) . This

family People work outside to maintain the Temple and themselves.

 

After great effort they collect 15,000 rupees to apply oil for the diety once a

year. Brahmotsavam etc. are not conducted for years.

 

Temple pujari was lamenting to us for nearly fifteen minutes about different

issues in maintaining the temple.

 

I thought i will post it here so that interested devotees can help this

temple in Kancheepuram. ( Temple pujari gave us his contact. It is chennai

with my brother. I will post the details in a day or two).

 

My uncle , aunt and children have taken initiation in Sri vaishnava line and

they are in sanndhi street (Kanchepuram). Their Acharya ( who also stays in

sanndhi street) was telling us how devotees (who are living abroad) support

Lord Varadaraja temple by different means. So ....

Dear Bhagavatas:

This is to inform you that I will be away on leave at India

from 20th March 2001 to 7th April 2001. I am proceeding to Srirangam to

participate in the SathAbhishEkam celebrations of Asmad AchAryan, H.H.

Srimad ANDavan of PounDarikapuram Ashramam. I will be at Srirangam from 24th

to 30th March 2001 and at Madras from 31st March to 7th April 2001 and

return to Atlanta.

For sometime now, I have been receiving a lot of queries, doubts, and

requests for review of draft materials etc. I am sorry that due to my being

Also, in spite of the announcement on the closure of discussions on the

topic "Idol and Icon", some members have sent to the address,

mails on this and other topics extraneous to the stated focus of "Sri Ranga

Sri" journal. With great regret, they have not been approved.

 

You may continue to send your queries etc. to "Ramanbil" or

"Sri_Ranga_Sri" and NOT to the address. Hopefully, I

can browse but may not be able to reply from India.

I hope to have the opportunity to discuss with AchAryas and Scholars on your

queries and bring authoritative answers.
