Guest guest Posted April 19, 2001 Report Share Posted April 19, 2001 Sri Raamajayam AdiyEn heard when I was young, that for all Sri Vaishnavas "Sri Srinivasar"(or ThiruvEnkatamudaiyan) is indeed the Kuladeivam. As for Ishta Deivam, it can be Kannan, Raman or Nrusimhan based on individual's Anubhavam with the Lord and his Kalyaana GunAs. Whatever be the case, we switch our allegiances to Ishta Deivam easily, whenever we hear the Divya Anubhavam/SwapadEsam from a Sri Vaishnava Acharya/visit a Divya DEsam. For example, for our family Sri Yoga Narasimhar of Thirukkadikai is the kuladeivam. For my mother's side it is Sri Varadharaja Perumal of Karpangadu (which is interesting given that the village they live in is 1 mile from Raja Mannargudi the home of Sri Rajagopala swami and Karpangadu is atleast 10-15 miles away). This could be because, in olden days people used to stay at one location and seldom move place to place. For them the local divya desam or abhmana sthalam becomes the Kuladeivam, as they surrender to the Perumal at that temple.
