Dear Sri.Prasad, I was not "suggesting" but saying with absolute conviction that, yes, there is definitely the prospect of "gainful employment" for all of us in the after-life thanks to sriya:pati who is the Eternal Employer. I base my conviction on the 'pramANam' of the 'saranagati-gadyam' of SriRamanujAchArya. There the Lord guarantees the individual soul 'eternal employment' ("nitya-kainkaryam") in His Kingdom ("param-padam"). I have firm conviction that such a "career" of eternal servitude awaits me too, if only I can qualify for it in this life itself. And I see no way to deserve such a "career" other than by properly studying and understanding the scriptures of my land, the foremost of which is the Veda. Thank you for your understanding. dAsan, Sudarshan GeoCities - quick and easy web site hosting, just $8.95/month. http://geocities./ps/info1
Guest guest
Harihi Om I beg to differ with you. It is one thing to claim a no return to this material world but another to think that one is preparing for a new life after this life. If you look around, most of the world religions are doing the same. Christianity claims that unless one accepts Jesus as the savior, one does not attain Heaven; muslims claim that killing those who are not muslims is a way to attain Paradise and so on and so forth. If we accept the claims of one religion, it will become difficult not to accept other claims however ridiculous they might seem. It appears to me that our focus should perhaps, be towards accomplishments of this life both material and spiritual. If not for the former, many of us wouldn't find ourselves in this part of the world and if not for the latter, we wouldn't be part of a forum such as this. Dear Sri.Prasad, You differ from me because you are arguing from a premise ("pramANam") different from mine. I have already explained that the basis of my conviction is what has been stated by SriRamanujAchAryA in his 'saraNAgati-gadyam' where the Almighty categorically assures the surrendering 'jivAtmA' by telling it: "nitya-kainkarya-bhavishyasi"... i.e. "Don't worry, I shall grant you in your after-life the supreme state of eternal servitude to ME in my kingdom (parama-padam)". I have no reasons to disbelieve my 'pUrvAchAryan'. My 'achAryA' also had no reasons whatsoever to disbelieve Ranganathan of SriRangam. The 'saraNAgati gadyam' has over the centuries become a testament of faith for many people like me who try, as much as possible, to follow srirAmAnuja's pathway. I accept the 'saraNAgati-gadyam' as valid scripture. If you do not, then there is nothing you and I can discuss further. All other points of discussion raised by you are extraneous to the subject. So I think it is better we please leave it at that. Thank you, Sir, Regards, dAsan, Sudarshan Buy the perfect holiday gifts at Shopping.
