Guest guest
SrI: Dear BhakthAs: We will be covering today the thrid slOkam of DS. This great analytical composition of Swamy Desikan is in high flown Sanskrit and assumes a lot of familiarity with Sri VaishNavite doctrines. It takes a lot of effort to understand even a fraction of the great AchAryan's composition. The commentaries are in MaNIpravALam (Sanskritized Tamil ) styleand they are pretty terse too! ..Hence , it is not easy to summarize the high lights of either DS or its companion Sri Sookthi, DhramidOpanishad Taatparya RathnAvaLi. In this context , I seek the indulgence of those , who may not be familiar with Sanskrit or Tamil to read these postings.I will try to explain to the best of my ability the subtle and unusual use of words and terms that have special meanings in Sri Vaishnava conversational parlance. Inspite of these efforts on my part ,the text may be hard to read for some of You. Please do not worry about it now. If it is too complicated ,Please use your delete button. A good understanding of Swamy NammAzhwAr ThiruvAimozhi is a must for any one intersted in Sri VaishNavaite views. That is why I am focusing on this composition containing 26 slOkams summarizing 1,000 plus paasurams . Thanks for your understanding , V.Sadagopan , New York.
