The Ashta Bandana Maha Samprokshanam of

Sri Rajagopalaswamy Temple at Paundarikapuram went off very well on 4th

between 900am and 10am. About 2500 people were present during

Samprokshanam. People from all the surrounding villages had also come. A

number of families of Paundarikapuram origin had also come for the

occassion from Bangalore, Bombay, Calcutta, Bombay and Kumbakonam and the

towns in Tanjore district.

The function started on first Nov

morning with Sri Bhagavath Prarthani, Maha Sankalpam, Viswaksena

Aradhanam, Punyahavachanam and Vasthu Shanthi.

The evening session started with Agni madanam

and Agni pradhistai and then followed by Homam. We were all extremely

happy when Agni came within a few seconds of starting the process of

creating Agni using Arali Kattai. All the Bhattachars were very happy

over the good omen.

The Homams continued on 1st evening, 2nd

and 3rd morning and evening and on 4th morning as well. There were

totally sixteen Bhattacharyars performing the Homams. An exclusive

Yahasala was built in the Prakaram having twelve Agni kundams. The Homams

were performed under the guidance of Vadagudi

S B Narayana Bhattachar and Kumbakonam

Raghunatha Bhattachar. Homam for each kalam was sponsored by six persons

of Paundarikapuram origin.

Uthsavar Moorthigal were brought from

Ellai Kali Amman Koil and Thirumanjanam performed. Persons from

Paundarikapuram origin have arranged for making of SADARI for Perumal and

Thayar and Aradhanai Pathrangal in Silver. Thirumangalyams for

Senkamalavalli, Sree Devi and Bhoo Devi Thayars and Andal have also been

arranged by persons of Paundarikapuram origin. A resident of the village

handed over Thirumangalyams for Moolavar Thayars and Karna Pushpams (a

jewel worn in the ear) for Uthsavar Perumal and Kreedams for Uthsavar

Perumal and Thayars. He said that these were the property of the temple

and he has been asked to keep it in safe custody by his brother who was

the member of the earlier temple committee. A devotee of Paundarikapuram

origin had arranged for Saligrma Malai for Moolavar and Uthsavar.

azhaghaka irundhathu.

When Homams were performed

Nalayira Divyaprabhandamum and all the three vedhas were being recited

continuously by seperate groups exclusively arranged for the same.

It was a divine experience

and we had the Bhagyam to be present during the function. On 4th morning

Samprokshanam was performed at about 940 am. Rajagopuram and vimana

gopurams had new Kalasams and the kalasa abhisekahm was performed

simultaneously on all the three. Rukmini Sathyabhama Sametha

Rajagopalaswamy Moolavar Garbhagrihathil Ezhuntharulinar. Andalum angu

ezhuntharulinar. Azhwargal avargal Sannadhiyil ezhuntharulinargal.

Sengamalavalli thayar Moolabvar Thayar Garbhagrihathil

ezhuntharulinar. After more than 50 years Uthsavar moorthukal Kovilil

Ezhuntharuli ullargal.' Perumalaiyum Thayaraiyum Uthsava Moorthigaludan

parthadhu kankolla katchiyaha irudhadhu. '

In the evening at about 620

pm Perumal Veedhi Ula started. There was lot of enthusiasm amongst the

villagers and every one was keen that 'Perumal thangal veetin munnal

thangal alikkum upacharangalai etrukolla vendum enru.'

Joint commissioner, Asst

commissioner and the Executive officer in charge of the temple were

present durig the occassion. They have promised to give permission for

'Oppiliappan Ezhuntharula' during Pankuni Uthsavam in Uppiliappan koil.

Nithya Thirumanjanam and

Aradhanai is going on for the mandala pooja for one mandalam. We are

planning to perform Kalyana Uthsavam on the day of the completion of

mandala poojai in the evening.

There are plans to construct

a quarter for the Bhattachar and have a garden of Thulasi and flowers for

aradhanai of Prumal. We have also started a Nithya Aradhani kattalai by

which a person paying a minimum sumof Rs 500/-- will have all the Poojas

done on a particular day in a year. I request you to participate in the

same and receive the BLESSINGS OF THE LORD.
