Swamy Deshikan Thiruvadigale Sharanam !!!

 

Paramahamsetyaadi Srimath Poundarikapuram Andavan Srimath Gopala Deshika

Maha Deshikar's thirunakshatram was celebrated in a befitting manner at

Srirangam on the 20th. The celebration was marked by Veda parayanams, Sadas

and Upanyasams. It also saw Srimath Swamy honouring many eminent vidwans of

the sampradayam with titles.

 

Releases -

A book featuring a collection of mangala stotrams was released by Swamy

yesterday.

A CD-ROM featuring Swamy's upanyasams on Paduka Sahasram Vol2 (shlokams

101-200) was also released.

 

Srimath Poundarikapuram Andavan, Sri Srinivasa Maha Deshikan's 100th year of

ascendence to the acharya peetam and asmad Swamy's 20th year of ascendence

on to the holy acharya peetam was celebrated earlier on the 8th of this

month. A Veda parayana goshti of 200 graced the occasion.

Commentary on Sri Deshika Sahasranamam of Thirukkudanthai Deshikan.

Commentary on Kanninun Shiruththambu of Thirukkudanthai Deshikan.

Swamy was compassionate enough to release another work in Englidh titled

"Srimath Gopala Deshika Vimshati".

This is a celebration of Swamy's glories and was written to mark Swamy's

20th year (Vimshati) of ascendence to the peetam. There is a second reason

behind Vimshati. Deshikan extols Kannan in Gopala Vimshati. Since our Swamy

is veritably the incarnation of Kannan again on this Earth, it is very

appropriate to celebrate him again with a Vimshati.
