SRI RAMANUJA JAYANTHI SPECIAL CELEBRATIONS

celebrations of Sri Ramanuja Jayanthi under the auspices of Sri Siva Vishnu

Temple (SSVT), Lanham, MD On Sunday, April 21, 2002 from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm.

 

Sri Ramanuja Divya Mangala Archa Moorthy sanctified by His Holiness Sri

Rangaramanuja Mahadesikan (Srimath Srimushnum Andavan) with 12 Salagramams

and Padukas of illustrious Sri Vaishnava Acharyas will be arriving at the

SSVT auditorium in the morning. After Seva Kalam, Thirumanchanam, and

Paduka Thiruvaaraadhanam, Sri Ramanujar will offer His prayers at Sri Balaji

Sannadhi and receive temple honors. This will be a very rare opportunity to

receive the Paduka Thirtham of many Acharyas. Elaborate arrangements have

been made for transportation, accommodation and prasadam distribution for

all participating Bhagavathas.

Dear friend:

The star on 7th May is Poorattadi It is NOT the Tirunakshatram of

Ramanuja.We do not know how this date has been arrived at.

 

The Tirunakshatram of Bhagavad Ramanuja is Chittirai-Tiruvadirai which falls

on 5th of Chitrai month corresponding to 18th April 2002 (Thursday). The

earlier star of Mrigaseersham is only upto 09.16 nazhigai (i.e) upto 3hrs

and 45 minutes from Sunrise on that day, the rest of the day being governed

by Tiruvadirai. So,18th April 2002 is correct as per Srirangam koil

Panchangam.

 

Udaiyavar Saatrumurai at Sri perumpudur Avatara Sthalam is on 19th April

2002 (also as per Srirangam Panchangam). The Popular Pambu Panchangam,

however, shows 19th April as the Tirunakshatram of Ramanuja, perhaps for

this reason.
