In a lighter vein, I have come across the explanation that AD means "After the

Death of Christ", and BC means "Before the birth of Christ". Of course this

leaves the small space between the birth and the death undefined. I know this

is not the correct expansion or explanation for AD and BC.

For my own educational purposes, I would like to know the Greek or other phrases

which are abbreviated as AD and BC, and which stands for "In the year of our

Lord Jesus Christ" etc.
