Because of (dosham) Sevvai mutam (Mars), this year the Prathama Sama UpaakarmA falls on Oct'02 in Purattasi (kanya masam) Hastham nakshatram (as per Sri Ranganatha Paduka, Aug 2002 issue- page 71).
