Guest guest
SrimathE rAmAnujAya namaha. Is there any proverb or literary saying in TAMIL which extols the efforts to construct a temple. In TELUGU, there is a proverb that says constructing temple brings PUNYAM to seven generations of the contributor. We are looking for an appropriate exhortation in TAMIL. I have TSCII fonts with which TAMIL words can be written and viewed, as well as tamil text editors. We will be grateful for suggestions from members. Devarajan. Guest guest
Dear Devarajan Swamin your spirit and quest to build an appropriate illam for your ishta devatha is exemplary. But with times and changing locale we must adopt. charitable funds allocated to such social causes is indeed limited. The loan outstanding of all our temples in the US alone could easily reach 500 Mil. And if we think about what can happen when loans are not repayed on time although at this time not one temple is in this dire state now..but almost every temple in the US owes about a million or close to that. We have to think about this..little deeply. All of us are in technology jobs (single market sector) and as a community we suffer huge risks. Past is no indicator of future growth and in my humble opinion with outsourcing at its peak growth is going send many hindus into jobless territory in the next 2 years or so. And this means added pressure on temple charity. if one cannot maintain one child, no one would think of having another one into further misery. Same here. Anyone wanting to build a temple, and is starting out, please consider adopting another temple building effort already in progress or establish not only initial funds but also a trust funds so that the temple will never be demolished by machines and detonations. Just imagine our arca murthy subject to such an end. Like Pattangi Swamin has pointed if a temple here is not satisfying enough, then please consider supporting one of the many run down divya desams in India. Also there is some misconception about divya desam and other non divya desams. There is no comparison. adiyen comes from uttiramerur near Madruanthagam near chengalpattu. All three towns have excellent temples and are not divya desams. Tough luck. just because palar runs and feeds my town (Chengalpattu) I cannot be myopic to think or revere that as Cauvery or Ganges. If I may Divya deseam is divya desam sung and eulogized by Azwar who are all emanations of Sriman NArayana. Knowing this Sri Ramanujar himself on his deathbed asked prapannas not to sit around and cry for his demise but instead work and contribute in divya desams. So consider heavily in utilizing your grandeur heart and the resources to the good use of eliminating a temple that exists rather than build more and decay more. How is this different from the romans who binged and binged and binged to vomit and then only to resume binging. Hopefully adiyen has not offended anyone in this chaste forum. A group of us (12 to be exact) motivated by the good works done by Sriman Pattangi have been contributing $10 a month and goes toward maintaining a temple. We have formed 3 such teams. We need 37 more to make sure Emberuman Sriman Narayana, the formless, the universal and the most powerful who needs no help from anyone, will continue to eternity to bless in limiting HIMSelf to a discernible form, powerless and waiting for us to take care of HIS daily needs. Thank you so much Contact me if you want to form a team or participate. There is also RMVENKAT who is also doing DD kaimkaryam from Bahrain. Please do not start but join an existing effort and do not find a zillion negatives why not to do..but find one positve to join ...and Sriman Narayana will be with you as a great guide for all generations to come.. not just seven or ten. this adiyen is convinced. Guest guest
Dear Srinivasa Raghavan swamin thank you for correcting me. Please next time correct adiyen in the forum so that all of us are updated. adiyen has no ego not in this sastang. adiyen is prone to mistakes. what adiyen meant was to eliminate the difficulty faced by Sriman Narayana in divya desam lacking a dutiful archakar, acook and even modest nithya aradhanam. This is a passionate topic as we can see from the copious outpouring. And in this hurry some mistakes (costly) creep in. Please do correct me everytime. adiyen must but is not doing appropriate proof reading. With your help we could have a better communication. Thank you so much adiyen anandavalli dasan --- Raghav wrote: > Probably, instead of using the term "elevating", you > have written > "eliminating" (I have highlighted in blue in your > mail, which is under this > message) which has very dangerous and apachara > overtones. > Am I right ? > Regards > Srinivasa Raghavan > > > > > Raman Kannan [sMTP:rrfamily] > > 08 January 2003 20:48 > > V.DEVARAJAN <devarajanvenkata; > > > > Re: Temple construction - > PUNYAM > > > > Dear Devarajan > > > > Swamin your spirit and quest to build an > appropriate > > illam for your ishta devatha is exemplary. > > But with times and changing locale we must adopt. > > charitable funds allocated to such social causes > > is indeed limited. > > > > The loan outstanding of all our temples in the > > US alone could easily reach 500 Mil. > > And if we think about what can happen when loans > > are not repayed on time although at this time not > > one temple is in this dire state now..but almost > > every temple in the US owes about a million or > close > > to that. > > > > We have to think about this..little deeply. > > All of us are in technology jobs (single market > > sector) and as a community we suffer huge risks. > > Past is no indicator of future growth and in my > > humble opinion with outsourcing at its peak growth > > is going send many hindus into jobless territory > > in the next 2 years or so.
