Can anyone reply to this

No I am not.

If you go through Sankaras Bhaja Govindam , we find beautiful rhyming of

most of the lines in the last words.

For example Hitva and vidithva.

Rhyming concept is the same in all languages.

For example Jack and Jill

Went up the hill.

hill and Jill rhyme.

Likewise in Tamil rhyming is done at the start of sentences and sometimes at

the end as above or sometimes even both.

Karka kasadara karpavai katrapin

Nirka atharku thaka.

In above Karka and Nirka rhyme beautifully . This is Thirukkural which even

goes to the extent of having only 4 words in first line and 3 on the next.

All these are 2 line verses. Such rules may be different but concept of

rhyming is the same in Tamil, which is at least as old as Sanskrit.

I cant find a single rhyming line in Gita .

Amar

Dear Sri.Amar,

AdiyEn am trying to understand what is

the use of researching for rhyming/poetry in Bhagavad

Geetha. DEvarIr having quoted Bhaja GOvindam, am sure

would appreciate the fact that there is not much

necessity to dwelve into grammar/poetry on such

instructional works, and focus on the meanings of

Srimad Bhagavad Geetha at the footsteps of an AchArya.

Besides the metre, the content, and the language

itself renders Bhagavad Geetha melliflous for someone

to hear. Also one should remember Bhagavad Geetha is

rendered by GeethAcharyan as UpadEsam to the masses

using the Vyajam (pretext) of MahAbharatha Yuddha and

Sri.Arjuna. So it will be relevant/blissful to ponder

the meanings of an AchAryas words (Tattva Nirnayam)

and in some cases a bit of poetic appreciation (Rasa

Dvani), rather than poetic investigation (Nirnayam,

kavi vichAram).

AdiyEn's two cents.

AdiyEn Sri RAmAnuja DAsan,

Sudarsana DAsosmi
