Sri Ranganatha Paduka is a monthly religious journal published by

Srirangam Srimath Andavan Ashramam. Each issue contains over 150

informative pages on Srivaishnava Sath Sampradayam. It features

Srimukhams from His Holiness Srimath Andavan on our sampradayam and many

It has authoritative answers from the editor of the journal Vidwan Sri.

U.Ve. Natteri Rajagoplachariar to very useful and pertinent questions

posed by its readers on sampradayic matters and every day life of

Srivaishnavas. It also carries other informative features like Srimath

Andavan's sancharam schedule for that month, News updates on events at

RARE occurrence is attracting devotees to a pilgrim centre, a few kilometres

away from Saint Tyagaraja's samadhi, in Thiruvaiyaru, near Thanjavur. The

Jagadrakshaka Perumal temple, in Thirukoodalur, near Kapisthalam, on the

Thanjavur-Kumbakonam route, one of the Divyakshetrams, and hence a holy

centre for Vaishnavites, is being renovated.

The prakarams are ready and the reconstruction of the gopuram and shrines is

being carried out. A month ago, when the authorities decided to cut parts of

the jackfruit tree that was in the temple complex, for use in the renovation

work, they found a natural formation in the shape of a big conch, about five

feet in height and two feet wide in the middle, on the trunk.

As the workers and devotees felt it was a divine phenomenon, the felling of

branches was stopped. Turmeric paste was applied to mark the portion so that

it would be clearly visible from the ground. - DVV
