Guest guest
Maybe the One became the Many so that It could temporarily move away from Its "Great Aloneness"; so that after a certain period of Time, it could go back to Its Great Aloneness. Being -> Becoming -> Being in an endless cycle of birth and death (Srishti and Maha PraLaya) That which has become (like all of us) cannot fully comprehend the Being, because the intelligence of the ones that became, cannot exceed the Intelligence of Being from which they emanated - the best that we can do is to try to merge back into Being (our Source) in our short lives [ours not to reason why, but to do and die - meaning we cannot comprehend why the Being decided to become, but we can undertake Saadhana (do) and let our small egos die or merge into the One Ego] Saakaara approach or Niraakaara approach - whichever appeals to each one of us depending on our deep spiritual inclinations - it does not matter; we MUST strive to reach the Goal/End of merging into Being by adopting any of the above two Means. Maybe a study of the Naasadeeya Sooktham might help in this regard adiYen, Ashok K --- VRGOPALAN <vrgopalan wrote: > Om Namo Narayanaya! > > Why we all given birth and to face joys and > sufferings and what is the > motive to spread around the world? > > With regards, > V. Guest guest
Dear Sir, adiYen thanks you for your wonderful article. adiYen was privileged to hear an elucidation of the Nasadiya Sooktham about 20 years ago (and have treasured that experience ever since), but did not remember all the details. Thank you once again for bringing back to adiYen the wonderful experience that one always has when reading about the Nasadeeya Sooktham (The Hymn of Creation from the Rig Veda) Here is a comment on the Nasadeeya Sooktham: "The vision of this hymn comes out of a profound insight into the mystery of reality. It is the product of a mystical experience that far transcends the limits of logical thinking; it is a religious chant - for only in music or poetry can such a message be conveyed - invoking in splendid verses the Primal Mystery that transcends all categories, both human and divine....." - (Prof. Raimundo Panikkar, "The Vedic Experience- Mantra-manjari" Pub. by Motilal Banarasidas, p 54). Though adiYen probably missed the central thought of the original article on the Aim of birth, adiYen generalized birth itself to mean not just human birth, but the birth of the universe itself - adiYen apologizes to the original author for daring to take his question out of context. "Let noble thoughts come to us from every side" - Rig Veda adiYen, Ashok K --- Sadagopan <sgopan wrote: > SrI: > > Dear SrIman Krishnamoorthy: > > You referred in your note on "Aim of Birth " > to the famous Naasidiya Sooktham of Rg vedam > (X.129 ) starting with the Rk of "NaasadhAseennO--" > and ending with " iyam visrushtiryatha--" . > > TheRks of this Sooktham are indeed profound > reflections > on the Creation. > > The scintillating poetry , the depth of philosophy > and the rigor of the description is simply > beautiful. > The multiple intrepretations of the Vedic terms used > in this Sooktham extend in to many dimensions of > today's Physics, Astronomy and Cosmology. > > The first sooktham asks with awe the question > after referring to the conditions that existed at > the time of Creation: > > " There was not nonexistent( asath) nor existent > (sath); there was no realm of air , no sky beyond it > , > what covered in , and where ?and what gave shelter? > was, water(Ocean of Cosmic intelligence, salila) > there , unfathomed depth of water?
