Dear Devotees:

 

It is known that the first few Solaka-s (starting with SuklAmbaradharam vishNum

and ending with om namo vishNave pra-bhavishNave) are not part of the original

composition in mahA bhAratam, and are add-ons at a later stage. I was

unsuccessful in tracing the history of how and when these few Sloka-s got added

to the stotram as it is chanted nowadays. If anyone has any information on

this, I would appreciate knowing the history.
