It starts as "kedumidarAya vellAm kEsavA yennALum". I understand it is in the 'ThiruvAi mozhi'. Tx. anbudan, SK "LOVE ALL; SERVE ALL; BE HAPPY!!" Free online calendar with sync to Outlook. Guest guest
SrI: Dear SrI MKS: The famous Paasuram dealing with the EmperumAn of ThiruvahIndhrapuram have a special significance to rasikAs of Dhivya prabhandham (Sacred Collect ) of Swamy NammAzhwAr. This Paasuram (3085 in the 4000 Dhivya prabhandham count ) is housed as ThiruvAimozhi.10.2.1 kedumidarAyavellAm KESAVAvenna , nALum koduvinai seyyum kooRRin tamarkaLum kuruhahillAr vidamudaiyaravil paLLi virumbhinAn surumbalaRRum tadamudai vayal Ananthapura nagar PUHUTHUM INRE This is the first of the ten paasurams on Thiruvananthapuram , who points out the importance of this dhivya desam and the significance of reciting the Naamam of KesavA in this paasuram for Moksham . Swamy NammazhwAr instructs us in His AchAryan's role to utter the name of Kesavan , a celebrated name of Lord KrishnA. On utterance , all the ills , griefs and sins (kodu vinaikaL yellAm ) will be banished and the servants of Yama (Yama DhUtharkaL ) will run away from You .Let us start on our yAthrai to Thiruvanathapuram to worship the Kesava Anantha- Padmanaabhan TODAY There He is resting on His soft bed of AadhisEshA amidst the ponds and rice paddy fields , where the bees/nithya sooris perfrom Kesava nAma sankIrthanam . Any interference to the iniitative to start on the journey to Thiruvananthapuram itself will be destroyed by the utterance of Kesava nAmam. You do not even need to know the deep meanings of this Naamam. Just recite this specail name of the lord says Swamy NammAzhwAr. Swamy AlavanthAr did just that and was totally lost in the enjoyment of the glories of the Lord of Thiruvananthapuram and in that process forgot to return home in time to keep His appointment to be iniitated in to His Kula dhanam of Yoga rahasyam from His grandfather NaaTa Muni's Sishyar. PerumAL of Thiruvanantha puram adequately compensated for that loss. The slOkams quoted from VishNu PurANam and MahA Bharatham to infrom us about the greatness of Kesava Naamm are: YasmAth thvayaiva dhushtAthmA hatha: kEsI JanArdhana: TasmAth KesavanAmA thvam lOkE khyAthO bhavishyasi --VishNu PurANam NarakE pasyamAnAsthu YamEna paribhAshitha: kim thvayA naarchithO Deva: Kesava: klesanAsana: --BhAratham Kesava Naama sankIrthanam is thus recommended for freedom from klEsams in this world and to prepare one for Moksha Praapthi. This is the Upadesam of Swamy NammazhwAr as he hastens towards SrI Vaikuntam and takes leave of selected dhivya dEsa EmperumAns in the last centum of ThiruvAimozhi, Oppiliappan Koil V.Sadagopan
