Desika Stothra Recitation Competition at Kanchipuram

( 3Rd year )

 

 

Desika Stotra Competition held at kanchipuram from 18/05/2003 -- 25/05/2003,

188 students including boys and girls participated in this competition. Compare

to the Previous Year this year 60% of the Students are participated in this

competition.

This Kaingarya has been started on 1996. During our first competition only 11

students participated in the competition and know one knows even a single Desika

Stothra fully and thoroughly. So, we planned to give gifts and prizes to

students learning the Desika Stothra. This gave us a good Response.

Till now we prepared 188 students in Kanchipuram who very well knows Desika

Stothra.

 

In Kanchipuram at Varadan Temple, Desika Stothras are allowed to say only 5

times in a year. Previously there are no even a single Student to say Desika

Stothras. Only Veda parayanakara will say Desika Stothras to Devapperumal. Now

it has been changed Today we prepared around 200 students to say Desika

Stothras.

 

For this Our Sabha has planned to collect all the students (200students) and

begin a Procession saying Desika Stothras in all the Madaveethi of the entire

Kanchipuram (china). This Procession will be planned to held on 22/06/2003.After

Finishing the Procession, students will reach the Desikan Sannidhi (near vagana

mandapam) and we will give prizes to students.

 

 

The Expected Expenses for the prizes: total 188 students are selected and

getting prizes.

46 * 280 = 12 ,880 ( Silver Tumbler ).

13 * 280 = 3,640 (Silver Kuttuvilaku)

6 * 2000 = 12,000 ( Cash Award )

123 * 30 = 3,690 (Concellation Prizes)

 

Details of the prizes :

 

Silver Tumbler -- Should say minimum 5 Desika Stothras padam.

 

Silver Kuttuvilaku -- Should say 10 Desika Stothras padam.

 

Cash Award -- Should say 300 Desika Slokam padam

 

Concellation Prizes -- To encourage the students.

of Kaingarya.
