Guest guest
Dear Sudarsana swamin, I wish to clarify a point to u.The word swamin means Yajamanan that is possessor of a thing. Srivaishanvaites used to think that every other srivaishnavite is his yajamanan to quote from our GREAT SWAMIN- VEDANTA DESIKA "Kraya vikrayrha dasaya samindhathe" that is srivaishnavites who are the deciples of Bagavat Ramanuja can even sell or buy one another that is why whenever we write a letter we use to say "Dasan" which means a servant. So it is quite right to say another Srivaishnavite as Swamin. dasan kaasyapah SMS using the Messenger;Download latest version.
Guest guest
Dear Bhagavatas: My reply to Sri Sudarshan's observations (in the enclosed mail) is given below: Dear Sri Sudarshan: You have observed: " I really don't know why the topic has been banned in . It is a harmless topic and I would have hoped for a funny and lively discussion on it. It's sad to watch interesting discussions budding forth but quickly getting snuffed out since it grows into adversarial debate" You have answered your question! "Sri Ranga Sri" is primarily a journal. Any discussions can still be carried on in the "Satsangam" portal, subject to the norms outlined in the description of the site. As only members can post, those desiring to read / participate in such discussions will have to enroll by sending an email to "Satsangam-" Dasoham Anbil Ramaswamy ==================================================================== , vedanta desikan <kavitaarkikasimhan> wrote: > Dear Sudarsana swamin, > > I wish to clarify a point to u.The word swamin means Yajamanan that is possessor of a thing. The way we SriVaishnavas use the form of address "swAmi" has been explained neatly by Sri Anbil SvAmin in his post y/day. One must however be aware that "swAmi" is also used by the general (non-srivaishnava) and larger public also. In that milieu "swAmi" has a different focus and which adiyane's post dealt with. As the Moderator has suggested we can pursue discussing this delightful thread on 'satsangham' group (outside Srirangasri) if you want. I really don't know why the topic has been banned here. It is a harmless topic and I would have hoped for a funny and lively discussion on it. It's sad to watch interesting discussions budding and quickly getting snuffed out since it quickly grows into adversarial debate. Regards, dAsan, Sudarshan
