Dear Moderator,

I do not disagree with sriman Hari. I also would like to add that many swamies

write lengthy messages and most of the times adding no real value to the main

message they intend to convey.Longer the message more investment of precious

time for the reader bhagavatas too!. I request for a curtailment on the length

of a message (ideally one page) so bhagavathas conveniently get the crisp

messages in as short time as possible.

Such comparisons are not fit to be told before scholars. I request the

moderators to interfere. In the name of stressing SandyA vandanam, let us not

entertain things like advaitam, pASupatham that are opposed to

VEdAnta-darSanam. I have been going through many postings of this

person. He has once reffered to a famous Advaita scholar and

stressed SandyA vandanam. In advaita, finally, the karma is also

not reality. One may argue that we can take the good points from

other darSanams also. I agree. But the source should not be

totally misleading finally.

Thanks & Regards

Sri:

Dear Ramachandran,

One should understand the importance of Sandhayvandhanam.

Sandhayvandhanam is the first and foremost form of

worshipping the unparalleled and unsurpassed supreme Sriman Narayana.

The word sandhya is denoting Lord Sriman Narayana and not any other

dieties. Lord Sriman Narayana is the inner controller (also supporter

and owner) of the Universe. It is a mandatory karma has to be

performed every day three times as stated by the sastras and by

acharyas in the ahnikams. Lord Sriman Narayana has commanded us to do

the sandhyavandhanam through the sastras and in Bagawath Geethai.

Sri Vaishnavas worship only Lord Sriman Narayana and the

names of other dieties in the mantras denotes only Lord Sriman

Narayana not the dieties one usually thinks. Swamy Nigamantha Maha

Desikan has explained this point clearly in his divine works.

By doing Sandhyavandhanam, one gets purified by the blessings

of Lord Sriman Narayana who is pleased. If it is not performed, one

gets punishment from the Lord Sriman Narayana. It has been told by

our acharyas in ahnika grantams that one is eligible to do any

vaidhika karmas only after doing sandhyavandhanam.

My asmadacharyan HH Srimath Paravakkottai Andavan Srimath

Gopala Desika Maha Desikan of Srimath Poundareekapuram Andavan

ashramam stress the importance of performing sandhyavandhanam daily

to all sishyas. HH used to deliver numerous discourses stressing the

importance of sandhyavandhanam. I would like to present few of those

delivered by Srimath Andavan.

One who is not doing sandhyavandhanam,

1. is always impure.

2. is having daily asoucham (theetu). Not eligible to do any

kind of work. Females only have three days in a month.

3. is not eligible to go in front of Lord Sriman Narayana.

4. is not eligible to go to temple and worship the Lord

Sriman Narayana.

5. reciting slokams, sahasranamams goes waste.

6. is a karma chandalan

7. is a traitor (dhrogi)

Srimath Andavan with compassion advise sishyas who visit

ashramam to do sandhayvandhanam. If a person do not know, Swamy gives

a book or send him to a learned Sri Vaishanva to learn the same.

Swamy also has organized (thru sishyas / abhimanis) several classes

on Sandhayvandhanam. Sriamth Andavan has kept a board stressing the

importance and corrects sishyas through upadesams. Please visit the

site www.munitrayam.org/andavanashram/Images/Poster1Final.jpg

dedicated to Srimath Andavan to see the upadesams of HH.

Sandhyavandhanam is a topmost practice in Sri Visishtadvaita

philosophy and practice also known as Vedanta Darsnam. By stressing

sandhyavandhanam, one should not compare with the avaidhika

darsanams. Also, the love or devotion that you quoted is baseless.

Only by doing these pratices as stated in the sastras, love or

devotion will come towards the Lord Sriman Narayana. Azhwars are also

unparalleled and unsurpassed who were always experiencing the Lord

Kannan.

I fully agree Sri Hari's views in this regard as it is in

accordance with the sastras and our acharya's teachings.
