AdiYaen wish to bring to your attention to Tamil Daily

"Dinamani " dated 23rd November 2003 (Supplement: Velli Mani), the article about

"Sri Venkatavaradharaja Perumal Thirukkoil" at Perumbakkam( near Villupuram)

South Arcot Dt.,Tamilnadu,India.

About 400 years back, Sri Varadharaja Perumal , gave a

"Darshan" to a devotee in his dream and has said that He was hidden in a land

called "Thoramaniyam" and has asked the devotee to take Him out along with the

Devi & construct a Temple with Nithya Aradhanaas. Then the God disappeared from

his dream.

The devotee consulted the local people and searched for

the Idol.He found the "Swami Vigraham"with His two Devis,viz., Sri Devi and Sri

Bhoomi Devi. Later with the cooperation of the local people, he constructed a

Temple as ordered by the God, and the project was completed in the year

1605.This incident was scripted in the Temple in Perumbakkam.

The Temple was constructed according to the "Ahama

Vidhi"with High quality of stones. There were "Artha Mandapam", ".Maha

mandapam""Sabha Mandapam", Sannadhis for Sri Perundevi Thayaar, Sri Andal, Sri

Nammazhavar, Sri Ramanujar,Sri Nigamantha Maha Desikan & Sri Adhiven

Sadagopan.Every year, during Purattasi month, 10 days festival were being held.

Besides this, Panguni Uthiram and other maha utsavams were also being

conducted.Later, the Kalyana Anjaneya Swamy has become more popular in this

temple. Many devotees worshipped Him and got the benefits in getting their

wishes fulfilled.

Four peetathipathis (Jeers) of Sri Ahobila Mutt had

offered their Mangala Sasanams to this Temple. Amongst them, 42nd Pontiff "Sri

Injimedu Jeeyar"-the very learned Acharya, who founded the Divine Magazine-"Sri

Nrisimhapriya", has stayed in this Village and gave His Managala sasanam to Sri

Venkatavaradha Perumal. He remarked this village, "Perumbakkam" as "DAKSHINA

AHOBILAM' and has praised it as "PERUMBAKKAM ORU PERUM BAKKIYAM'.

 

THE PRESENT SITUATION: Since it is more than 400 years, and during the past

sixty years the Temple is damaged due to insufficient care.

Now, the devotees of this village have decided to renovate the temple and the

"Samprokshanam" (Kumbabishekam) will be held shortly as the work is progressing

in a rapid speed and is expected to be completed in another two months.
