Guest guest
SrI: SrImathE rAmAnujAya nama: Dear Smt SrImathi Raghavan, Please see below a (transliterated)poem written by SrI. U.vE .Hari and its loose translation. This poem is from a Satakam(100poems) written by SrI.Hari on nammAzhvAr. dAsan Mukundan, Singapore -------------------------------- vAzhiSaTha kOpan * vaguLamalar tArmarban * vAzhi madurakavi vAzhttiDum – AzhiyAn * sEnait talaivanin sIrava tAramagi * vAnai aDaivippAn vAkku. While entering this leelA-vibhUti world for our sake, nammAzhvAr kept the "SaTham" vAyu away, just with a `HoonkAram' and hence he is known as SaThakOpan. He is also called `vakuLAbharaNan", as his tirumEni was always adorned with the garland of`vakuLa' flowers (Mimusops Elengi). He was born in this world as the amSAvatAram of Lord chakrapANi's sEnESan – srImad viSvakSEnar. He himself practiced, what he gave us as the `tamizh maRai'. All these kalyANa guNAs of nammAzhvAr are recalled here, while doing mangaLASAsanam on the AzhvAr. -------------------------------- , Gopalan Raghavan <shriragh> wrote: > Dear Bhagavathas, > Can anyone explain the meaning of the name Vakulabaranan. > Srimathi Raghavan > > > > > SiteBuilder - Free web site building tool.
