Dear Bagavathas

 

When we think of Kanchi, we Think of Lord Varadaraja Perumal Who grants all

boons to his devotees. When we think of Lord Varadaraja Perumal, we invariably

think of Sri U.Ve. Cheema Bhattar, the Chief Archakar of the Lord Varadaraja

Perumal Temple with an Unbroken record of 65 years’ service to the lord

Varadaraja. Every one of us has, had his or her Prayers answered through his

devoted archanas to the Lord, Goddess Perundevi Thayar and Sudarsana Alwar

 

He studied Agama and Other Shastras under his own father Sri Srinivasa Bhattar,

Sri ilangadu Rengachariyar and Sri Azhichoor Vijayaragavachariyar swamy. He is

one of the living authoritieson the Pancharatra Agama Shastras, having been

awarded the title of “Pancharatra-Vidwan” in 1986 by the then President. He

holds several other titles also, such as ‘Pancharatra-Praveena’,’

Pancharatra-ratnapeeda’,’Agama ratnakara’,etc. Right from 1938, when he was a

mere 13 year old boy, he has conducted over 600 Samprokshanam for Various

Temples,Performed over 1000 Sudarsanam homams, for Kanchi Sri Devapperumal

alone, he has done 4 Samprokshanam, 5 Sahasra-Kalabishekams and 5 Tiruppavadais.

 

We are now glad to inform you that Sri Cheema Bhattar is entering his 18th year

on Chittrai, Uttaraphalguni star, Corresponding to 1.5.2004 (Saturday). All the

Bagavathas are cordially invited to attend the auspicious function on coming

Saturday 1.5.2004 to held between 07.30 am and 09.00 am at Ananta Bhavanam,

Sannidhi street, Little Kanchipuram. (Phone 04112-269470) .Please also note

that, Starting from Monday (26.04.2004), Vedaparayanam will be held during both

Mornings and Evenings at sri Varadaraja Bhavanam 54/40, South Mada Street,

Little kanchipuram.(954112-269470). it is also the ardent wish of his

beneficiaries and patrons to have a year-long Satabishekam festival culminating

on Parthipa- Chittrai (21.04.2005). During this period, it is the earnest wish

of sri Cheema Bhattar to have some programmes as pfferings of gratitude for over

six decades of service at the Kanchi Temple. These are:

 

1. Installing a 26-feet idol of Sri Chakkarathazhavar near by Kuram,

Triupputkuzhi or Sriperumbudur.It’s a Project Estimated for 40 Lakhs and

consider a big idol never installed before.26 feets = 26 Thatuvangal.

 

2. Performing Tirumanjanam simultaneously for all the Sixteen Divay desa Perumal

temples and Kuram, Sripermbudur, ThirukachiNambigal Sannidhi (Poonamalle), who

have taken abode at Kanchipuram, on an auspicious day and adorning them with new

vastrams (Dhoties) this might cost Rs.10000/- for each Divya Desa temples. It is

Calculated that, there are 300 Moolvar and Utsavar Moorthigals in 16 Divya Desa

Temples.

 

3. Presenting each of the long-serving 600 Kaingarya Paras of Sri

DevarajaPerumal.i.e, who serves Kaingarya in the Utsvam, they includes

(Kodikaran,yanai Pagan, Mela Karan,Light man,Crackers man,Veda - Prabandha

Parayana Swamigal and Kovil kaingarya Paras.) with a Gold Ring weighing 2

grams.This Projects cost 6 lakhs.

 

 

We feel that every one of his admirers should participate in the above noble

schemes and partake of the blessings of the Divine Couple and Lord sudarsana.
