Srimath Srimushnam Andavan Thirunakshatram Celebrations: Request for organizers

Exactly two weeks from today, Saturday May 22, 2004 is Srimath

Srimushnam Andavan Sri Rangaramanuja Mahadesikan's 70th

Thirunakshatram Mahotsavam. Srimath Srimushnam Andavan was born

in "VaikAsi" Month on star "ThiruvAdirai". Srimath Andavan

Ashramam in Bangalore where Srimath Andavan is camping

presently, is gearing up for a grand celebration for 5 days

starting on May 18, 2004 with hundreds of Sevarthis and vidwans

participating in various Grantha Parayanam, Veda Parayanams and

Vidwat Sadas.

 

For the last couple of years sishyas and abhimanis of Srimath

Andavan all over USA had the great bhAgyam of celebrating their

Acharyas Thirunakshatram with other sishyas in their vicinity,

through the auspices of Sri Ramanuja Mission of Srirangam

Srimath Andavan Ashramam in 10 Cities in USA.

 

An AchAryan's Thirunakshtram day is a very important day in a

sishyA's calendar. One need no special qualification to take a

lead in organizing this and need not be an expert in the

sampradayam to sing the praise of an Acharyan who renounced

[image]everything in life to devote to bringing his sishyas closer to

emperuman. The celebration in each location could be marked

simply by sishyas coming together on this joyous occasion and

reciting few sthothrams (Vishnu Sahasranama, Desika Sthothrams

etc.) and ending with Acharya Sambhavani and recitation of

Srimath Srimushnam Andavan's Tanian.

 

This year Sri Ramanuja Mission hopes to organize the

thirunakshatram in even more cities than last year on May 22nd

2004 for all the sishyas of our illustrious Aharyan to

celebrate this important day. This year we hope to see sishyas

come forward in new areas also, where we did not conduct in the

past. We request Andavan sishyas all over USA and all other

locations worldwide to come forward in great numbers to host

and/or coordinate this important mahOtsavam. Please reply
