There are over 500 aides who are continuingly working day and night during

Bramhostvam festival in the Lord varadaraja Swamy temple at Kanchipuram.

The Kaingaryapara follows,

 

1. Bhattacharya’s = 23

2. Veda Parayana = 125

3. Divya Prabandhas = 125

4. Madapalli Kaingaryam = 20

5. Umbrella Holders = 8

6. People who carry’s Perumal at various Vahanam = 180

7. Light men = 15

8. Mela & Nadasvara = 25

9. Elephant and Horse Riders = 4

10. Temple Staff = 15

 

In the Strictest Sense of the term, they are all called Bagavathas, i.e., who

exclusively serves for the Lord. Scriptures say that the lord is immensely

pleased when his servants are honored and respected. For the Last four years,

these hardworking Bagavathas are being rewarded for their service although in a

humble way,by our Sabha. Amounts varying from Rs.20 – Rs.100 are distributed

depending upon their Kaingaryam on the concluding day and Sum of about

Rs.14000/- will be spent on that day. Philanthropist may kindly contribute to

the noble cause.
