A Humble Review and Tribute. There is a famous saying about the epic Mahabharatha “Yad iha asthi thad anyatra Yat na iha sthi na thath Kvachith”. The meaning of this is what is found in Mahabharatha is also found else where and what is not found here cannot be found any where else. This axiom is eminently applicable to the book Hinduism rediscovered which is under review now. I marvel the author Sri Ubhayavedantha Vidwan Sri Anbil Ramaswamy for the patience and perseverance he had in gathering so much of information with intricate details and present it in an excellent and impressive sequential form. If a real review has to be written to this book it would contain as many pages as the book itself. So writing a pragmatic review is something impossible and out of question. It is an encyclopedia on Hindu culture, Sri Vaishnavite philosophy, religion, tradition, culture and customs. The author has given a brief account of other religions and philosophies that exist in this world. Barring subjects of physical and natural sciences, modern mathematics, Engineering and medical sciences everything under sun has been covered in this book under review. It is still a mystery as to how the author was able to collect so much of information on various topics presented in this book. If a person possesses a copy of this book in his hand (not in the rack), one need not go in search of another book for getting the required information. Devotion towards Acharya This book which can be considered as the eighth wonder of the world cannot be written without possessing spiritual power and divine grace. The Spiritual power has to flow only through an Acharya as Lord Sriman Narayana will not directly confer the spiritual power as per our Sri Vaishnava Sampradaya. Only an Acharya possessing all the qualities as narrated by Sri Vedanta Desikan in the first two verses of Nyasa Vimsathi can confer the above. All these qualities are in full measure in His Holiness Srimath Paravakottai Srimad Andavan Sri Gopala Desika Maha Desikan of Sri Poundarikapuram Srimad Andavan Ashramam, Srirangam, which is more than a century old institution. His holiness possesses remarkable mystic powers. If people take refuge under his lotus feet, His Holiness will confer upon them the divine grace and spiritual power with which people can do wonders. The most fitting example for the above is Shri Anbil Ramaswamy swamy who is a very devoted disciple of his holiness. He did Kalakshepam of many Vedantha granthas under the lotus feet of his holiness and his holiness did Prapatti to him. So the divine grace and spiritual power acquired by him through the above holiness has given him sufficient strength, courage, wisdom, knowledge and perseverance to write this epoch making book. In addition to the above, the author has studied spiritual texts under the lotus feet of his holiness the present Srimath Alagia singar of Ahobila mutt both in the Poorvashramam as well as in the present Sanyasa Ashramam and also under the lotus feet of the late Purisai Nadathur Krishnamachariar swamy who are all great exponents of Sri Visishtadwaitha philosophy. So the author has eminently fulfilled the famous saying “Bahubyaa srotavya bahudhaa srotavya, Gnana vriddha maya rajan bhava parye upasitha:” The meaning of this is that knowledge has to be gained by listening to the preaching of many Acharyas who would teach all aspects of a subject matter. The combined and comprehensive knowledge imparted to him by the above stalwarts has contributed to the complete success of this book. This book is a worthy possession of every man and woman and especially in Sri Vaishnavite tradition and it deserves being read daily by every individual just like Srimath Ramayana Paarayana so that valuable and innumerable ideas contained in this book get fully consolidated in the minds of the readers. Extracts from this book are worthy of being quoted by those who deliver spiritual discourses. “Yavath sthasyam thi giraya sarithas cha mahitale thavad Ramayana katha lokeshu pracharishyethi” was the boon conferred on Sri Valmiki Ramayana by the Lord Chathurmukha Brahma and every syllable of the same is true even to-day. The meaning of the above is that Srimad Valmiki Ramayana gets propagated in this world; so long the mountains and rivers are there. I pray to Srirangam Divya Dampathi and Poorvacharyas to confer the same boon on this book also and also pray to them to bless this outstanding author to live for several decades to come, with good health so that many more such precious books may come out with his tireless efforts and yeoman service. The books can be had at the following address on payment of Rs.480/- per copy payable in Cash, Cheque or Demand draft drawn in favor of “Sri Ramaswamy Anbil” and sent to Sri Ramaswamy Anbil, C/o.
