Regarding Sri ANC Swami's Review of "hinduism Rediscovered"

Dear Swamin:

This is in continuation of my earlier mail in which I had just reproduced

the draft of Review proposed by Sri ANC Swamin for publication in "Sri

Kanchi Perarulalan". I have sent he following reply to him.

Dear Swamin:

Kindly accept my heartfelt thanks to you for your impressive expression of

appreciation of my humble work. IMHO, they were meant to provide me an

opportunity more out of love and affection than as a result of recognition

of my capacity (or the lack of it) to live up to the standards mentioned by

you.

 

You have rightly pointed out that one can work wonders with Anugraham of

Acharyas. There can be no truer words than these. I have mentioned this in

the “Author’s Acknowledgements” in which I have stated “The book has been

made possible by the graceful benediction of my Acharya, Srimad Andavan,

Poundarikapuram Swami Asramam. I am proud to say that I am the recipient of

Paripoorna Kataksham of His Holiness.

 

I repeat: “If there are any merits in the book, the credit goes to these

masters. Any variations or deviations are due to my own lack of knowledge,

lack of understanding and lack of experience.I hereby implore forbearance”

 

I feel confident that with Acharya Kataksham and blessings of Scholars like

you, I can live up to the standards, at least over a period of time.

 

I feel that you may delete the following words –

 

1. In the Preamble

“or even the third millennium of Christian era and sixth millennium of

Kaliyuga.”

2. Under “Devotion towards Acharya”

“which can be considered as the eighth wonder of the world”

 

I have proof read your write up with spell check etc. and am again attaching

it at the end of this mail. You may feel free to publish it in Kanchi

Perarulalan.

 

The review has appeared in The Hindu dated 22nd June 2004, and

Sri Nrisimhapriya (Tamil–June 2004) and (English –July 2004) issues.

Smt Vasudha Narayanan, Professor of Religion, University of Florida and

President, American Academy of Religions, has also sent her evaluation.

I have sent them attached to my previous mail for your kind information.
