Guest guest
Dear All, Referring to all recent problems against Tirupathi Temple and other common Sri Vaishnava issues, adiyEn would like to share my view. 1. Why cant we have a Central Sri Vaishnava Forum or Committee where all Sri Vaishnava Mutt heads inlcuding both kalais become members. This commitee can decide and approve all the generic vaishnava issues. Example 1: Tirupathi Temple issue, Example 2: To oppose to any magazines/Films etc which degrades SriVaishnavism. 2. Committee chairman post can be of rotating type. One year Vanamamalai Jeer Swami can head and next year Andavan swami can head and it goes on to all the mutt heads on yearly basis. 3. Committee can be a single unified voice against all issues. Currently that is lacking which is misused by all politicians, non vaishnavaite mutt heads and magazines. 4. Committee can initiate all generic steps to propogate Sri Ramanuja's philosophy and implement and suggest right temple worships etc. 5. Important factor for conversion in India is "Caste" This committee can devise ways to reach people and clarify about varnashrama dharma and stop the conversion. Current threat is that even divya desams are filled by non hindus. At Thanjavoor, lot of places have already gone. Divyadesam like thErezhundoor do have non hindus inside the main veethi. If we do not stop, we can have the divyadesams on website only. 6. Committee can setup a Research unit on Vedas and Divya prabandams. Currently students out of padasalas are either becoming archakas or purohitars(vaathyaars). Instead if select people are involved in scientific research on Vedas and Prabandams, that will support the teaching on vaishnavism. Please comment on this and if viable, we can take the idea to the acharyas. Thanks, Srinath. Mail - Now with 25x more storage than before! Guest guest
Dear Bhagavatas: Many of our members (who have been on our lists from the beginning) would remember how, long ago, I had spearheaded the "Unity movement" among Srivaishnavas. Even back in India, we are a miniscule minority and any bickerings among us on matters too insignificant to discuss, would only expose us as the laughing stock in the eyes of others. That is why, I coined and presented the following slogan- "At least in the United states, let us be in the united state" Hope this will be an eye opener for us and let us turn a new leaf in our mutual relations. It will be my pleasure and duty to be part of any endeaavors in this regard. Dasoham Anbil Ramaswamy ================================================================= Dear All, Sreemathe Ramanujaya Namaha: This is an excellent suggestion. can all the Vaishnavagroups on the internet form a committe to work as an agitating group to pave way for a much wider discussions on this subject. A model code of conduct and a common minimum programme can be worked out to kick start this approach. Can we rise beyond our narrow outlook and widen our vision to greater vistas? This will be an excellent service to Emberumanar Sri Ramanuajar Himself. This is a poser to members of all groups. Guest guest
Dear Bhaktas, It will be our sacred duty to unite and take all these types of attacks head on. Our revered aharyas are doing this thing. We have Srimad Aandavan swami and the Jeer swami joining hands often. We should emulate our leaders instaed of thinking I am the leader. We should emulate the thought that we are but servants only of him, in the real sense. Guest guest
Sreemathe Ramanujaya Namaha: Dear All, I would request our enlightened members like Sarva Sriman Anbil Ramaswami Iyengar, Sriman Sadagopan Iyengar, Sriman Sadagopan of MIT(USA), Sriman MK Sudarsan, Sriman Srinath Venkata Krishnan, Smt. Jayasree, Dr. Kidambi Ramakrishna of Hyderabad and others to explore whether we can form a combined committee with the sole purpose of putting in efforts for unifying the Sri Vaishnavas at least on the internet. A small step can lead to greater things in future. Let us all start with what is called in Telugu, "UduthA Bhakti", the dedication and devotion of a squirrell, which refers to the episode of the squirrel's help in building the Vaaradhi (bridge) to Lanka in Ramayanam in the Yuddha Kandam. (This story is in Jaanapada Kavyams, meaning tales of commonfolk. I don't know whether it is in the Moolam). >Vijaya Raghavan <svrvan >Ramanujam Varada Srinivasa Thatta <acharyatvsr, >srinath_venkatakrishnan >CC: ramanuja, , > >RE: Sri Vaishnava Committee >Sat, 21 Aug 2004 20:22:03 -0700 (PDT) > >Dear Bhaktas, > >It will be our sacred duty to unite and take all these >types of attacks head on. Guest guest
Dear all, What is the first step in this movement? How are we going to make people aware of this? We want Aacharyas spearhead the movement. But then we have to have the objectives set very clearly. Otherwise this whole effort will wither away without any significant benefits. Regards, Shriram
Guest guest
Dear all, May I request you all to include Sri Ranganatha Temple at Pomona, NY, USA in your good books please. May be, We can have our Srivaishnava Head-Quarters here. I request you all to please visit Sri Ranganatha Temple, a real Srivaishnava Temple in USA, where the two fundamental principles of Srivaishnavism are followed - No anya-devata aaraadhana, and Azhwar - Acharya Pratishtha is there.
