Azhagiyasingar in his works "Ahnika grantham" says:

 

 

 

One should perform sandhyAvandhanam uninterruptedly. This applies even

to the ASaucam (teeTTu) days.

 

I couldn't find anywhere in his works (with my limited knowledge)

restricting the procedures except the count of japam.

 

 

 

One should AT LEAST perform 28 counts of japam each time during normal

days. Of course higher is advised but 28 is the bare minimum.

 

During ASaucam (teeTTu) days, one has to do it ONLY 10 times. In that

work, it is also said that doing 10 count in normal periods will be

sinful.

 

 

 

Again apart from this I didn't find any other restrictions on the

sandhyaVandanam procedure during ASaucam (teeTTu) days.

With reference to the question raised if we can do

Sandhyavandanam during "theetu" days, as replied by

the Stalwarts, we should not leave doing this Nitya

Karma anyday.

 

Permitting adiyen to express a point, I have read a

scripture on this which says that during Birth / death

Theetu days, we have to perform only Gayathri Japa

only 10 times and not a complete Ashtothram.

 

May I request the experts to kindly clarify on this

point.

I have a doubt regarding the rules for performing

sandhyAvandanam

during ASaucam (teeTTu). For instance if there is

death in the

family, during this time do we continue to perform

nitya karmA-s, or

do we perform only some parts of it? Information on

the above will

be very much appreciated.
