Guest guest
Dear group members, My sastanga pranamams to every body. I put below an episode in my family and a small problem. I seek advise from the elite members. My brother’s son aged around 24 expired a year back. My second daughter is only the next smallest to him in the family by 8 montbs. The grief was shocking for the entire family. Six months ago my daughter is married and now at US with her husband. The annual ceremony of the boy is scheduled from 14th to 18th of this month. My daughter states that boy comes in her dream for the last one week, with smiling face and family gathering is also seen. Once she opens her eyes she realizes he is no more and starts feeling. I told her it is all part of life cycle and not to think too much about it. The elite members are requested to advise me in this matter. Adiyen S. Guest guest
Dear Sri Vijaya Raghavan Swami: First please accept my sympathies on your families grief. Other postings on dreams posted earlier in this message group may provide additional interpretation to your daughter's dreams. Similar to your daughter's experience, my own long-deceased parents came in my dreams for several days just close to the death anniversary of my father. It looks like our day-time anticipations about the annual events of this sort seem to awaken our deep-seated memories in the dreams with mixed messages. Since the brain is considered a neural network, we seem to recognize some patterns through some conscious inputs during the day time, and seem to experience some other related patterns through unconscious inputs during the night time especially when our day-time thoughts are intense on a particular topic. I am sure that your daughter's dreams will be different in the days ahead and will not be so emotional. Here are a few lines from vedam that can be added to our prayers if we need to invoke the Lord's help in improving the quality of our dreams. 'addhyano deva savita: prajAvath savI: sowbagam| parA dushswapniyagum suva|| viswAni deva savitar duritAni parA suva| yat badram tanma Asuva||' Sweet dreams!
