Sri Alavandhaar's SthOthra Rathnam verse- 34- Lotus flower, the moon are put to shame by his most beautiful face

SrImathE Gopaladesika mahadesikaya namah:

 

Dearest Srivaishnavas,

 

Alavandhar after enjoyment of shoulders, travel

towards the neck and then the divinely most beautiful

Thirumukham (Face) above that strong neck.

 

udhagra peenaamsa vilambikuNdalaa lakaavaLee bandhura

kambu kandharam

mukha sriyaa nyakrutha poorNa nirmalaamruthamsu

bimbaambruhOjjvalasriyam [34]

 

the high and large shoulders- and there the ear studs

–rings - that hang from ear lobes touching those

strong large shoulders; the black curly tresses fall

and hang by the side- all of these adorn the most

beautiful conch like [three lined] neck; and the

lustrous beauty of the divine face which humble and

pout the beauty of spotless moon’s beauty and its

splendour and the bloomed lotus flower to shame..

 

The conch-like slender and beautiful neck of the Lord

attracts the

attention of Acharya Alavandhar. One is reminded of

the anubhavam of

ThiruppANAzhwar at Srirangam: muRRum unda Kantam

kandeer adiyEani uyyakkondathE. - Here AzhwAr refers

to the Lord's neck that swallowed during PraLayam, all

the world, [aNdams, anDAvaraNams, MahA prithvee , and

the seven kula parvathams in one gulp.

 

The ear rings or studs that hang from the ears add to

the beauty of shoulders. The black tresses that sprout

out of the kireetam and fall on the shoulders add

further charm. The three lined conch shell like neck

is the ultimate as it has the most beautiful divine

face on top of it. Such a divine face would put the

spotless shining cool moon light to shame; it would

also out the freshly bloomed red lotus flower to

shame..

 

Even if both combine, it would still not match. Such

most Beuatiful You…. – says Alavandhar
