Guest guest
Respected bhagavathas, several respected members of this forum have offered their views. The illustrious Navalpakkam swamigal was reputed to not even leave his village,so that no nithyakarma will be diluted. He will step out of his house only when the Perumal purapadu takes place and the swami w ill come out for darshan. I heard this from our present azhagiyasingar in his poorva ashram during kalashepam on rahasyathrayssaram in our maligai. my own view is that bharatha kanda alone is depicted asKarmaBoomi. we are lucky to be born here.for performance of our karma, enjoy the archa avathara of our Emperuman and ultimately attain moksha. Are we allowed to perfor our karma overseas? Will we not miss some nithyakarma even if the travel is less than 24 hours. What happens to agnihothram? Will it be possible to carry the holyagni maintained at home? It is true that dollars flow into India for very good constructive purposes.but is this sufficient reason for breaking rules-rules that no one seems to be clear why these have been mad but sanctioned by our shastra adiyendasan narayanan. Guest guest
Jai Sriman Narayana! I am not qualified to comment, but never the less I would like to express my view (which shows that I am not Atvik but more of Rajasik). Rules are usually made to guide us. There are always exceptions. My feeling is that if you are able to retain your religion and culture, and impart it to others in the foreign land, in the service of Lord Sriman Narayana, then it should be fine. On the other hand, if you acquire alein culture compramising our own, then the rules apply to you. If we think that Lord Sriman Narayana has sent us to a forein land with a purpose, then it becomes a kainkaryam. Thirty five years ago when I landed in Memphis, people used to ask me as to how I survive without eating meat. Today, there are so many vegetarian resturants in every city in USA and many Americans are vegetarian. We have our temples here and has become a part of Bharat. Today, the US is not a foreign land as far as our relegion is concerened. On the other hand, our relegious swamis in India are either supporting or keeping a blind eye at the cow slaughter houses saying that it brings revenues. As a result, there is draught in Andhra. As far as clean water, they (Vaishnavas) are buying water from tankers. I strongly feel that there is a foreign land even in India, where some of our Viashnavas are watching T.V. and criket matches. The same swamys are celebrating the christian new year and they justify that. On the other hand, we celebrate our Ugadi as our new year. The calandars issued by some hindu swamys have ramzan and christmas marked. What a pity! I am sorry to point out the reality and I know it is unvaishnava to point out. I am only giving the feedback. I think our hindu religous leaders have failed or failing to educate the masses and lead them in the right direction. Otherwise, why do we have rotten politicians in power everywhere in the country? As far as rules, please refer to the story of Lord Krishna wanting to have the pada-dhuli or the dust of the devotee's feet and nobody was willing to give their dust other than the gopies who had intense love for Lord Krishna. Also, please refe to the gopura sandesham or Sri Bhagavath Ramanuja. In conclusion, love is imortant than rules. With all glories to Lord Sri Venakteswara, I remain, Sincerely Narender Reddy Rajagopalan Narayan <rajagopalannarayan wrote: Respected bhagavathas, several respected members of this forum have offered their views.
