Thiruvaheendirapuram, presently known as

Thiruvendipuram, a famous vaishanavite shrine, 5 kms

from Cuddalore in Cuddalore District is hallowed by

the memory of 2 great Vaishanavite scholars viz. 1.

Sri Thirumangai Azwar, who performed the magalasasanam

of Shri Devanathaswamy temple there and 2. Shri

Vedanta Desikan who spent a better part of his life

in meditation atop the Aushadhagiri hills and blessed

by Lord Hayagriva composed prolific religious grantas.

Innumerable devotees, throng the temple daily - the

number increases manifold during festival time. To

have a ecstatic dharshan of the Lord and also to

perform Utsavam comfortably, the need for a mandapam

in the Hayagreeva Sannadhi atop the hill was felt.

With the benevolent contribution from the Asthikas

forming the nucleus, the first stage of construction

was completed at the cost of Rs 2.45 lacs and

consecrated on 08/02/2003 (Ratha sapthami day). It was

indeed a feast for the eyes of the devotees to worship

the Lord in the mandapam in all its grandeur amidst

picturesque surroundings.

The remaining construction of the mandapam has to be

completed at an estimated cost of Rs 8 lacs and hence

this appeal to the devotees to come forward in large

nos. and contribute.

Those who contribute Rs 20,000 and above would be

gifted with Lord Hayagriva in scripted silver dollar

besides a gift packet of religious books valued at Rs

325/- authored by the undersigned.

The names of the Philanthropists whose contribution

is of Rs 50,000 and above will be engraved on the

front walls of the mandapam in granite stones. Donors

can also contribute in installments but in such cases

it would be helpful if the total amount is indicated

in the first installment.

All contributions to be sent across by Demand drafts

drawn in favour of SRI KAINKARYA to the address

given below:

D. Soundararajan,

F5, Chandra Flats,

90, Brindavan Street,

West Mambalam, Chennai - 600 033.

All Contributions are exempted from Income Tax under

Section 80 (G) (5) (vi) of I.T Act 1961 till March

31,2005.

Dear Swamins

I shall explain the origin of

Oushadhagiri in due course. Before that I am now

giving the first sloka of Sri Hayagreeva Stotram with

brief meaning

Jnaana--aananda--mayam devam

nirmala--spatika--aakritim

aadharam sarva --vidyaanaam

Hayagreevam upaasmahe

WE contemplate upon Lord Hayagreeva who is an

embodiment of knowledge and bliss; whose form is like

a flawless crystal and who is the support (source) of

all branches of learning

Can you recite ,especially students,

before commencing your lessons ?This sloka if recited

with absolute faith will give you abundant knowledge

in all your educational career.

Can you recite, all bakthas,whenever

you find time ? the recitation will give you presence

of mind, give solutions to the problems in day to day

life and give peace of mind . This is certain
