Respected Bhagawathas,

My understanding is that charanagathi yields the

fruits asked for in the sankalpam .Time and again it

has been emphasised that one should not define ones

rerquirement while approaching the Lord.HE KNOWS BEST

AND WILL BLESS AT THE APPROPRIATE TIME.DROPUPADI ASKED

FOR PROTECTION OF HER MODESTY and got it.An important

fact is that the Lord protected her from dwaraka

itself unlike as in ganjendra moksham.Ofcourse the

angas of prapatti are present in the call by Droupadi.

We may also remember that Arjuna was given the

viratrupa darsan,Dridarshtra the divine darsan.and so

did Bishma in the war and Devaki at the time of birth

of Krishna but all of them did not get moksham

immediately or freed from human sufferings.

Prahlada was reborn as vibishana and again as Akrura

inspite of the Lord appearing as Narasimha.-a typical

case when prarabda karma is not totally erased by The

Lord so that His Leela can be comprehended and

Dear Bhgavathas,

 

PraNAms to all.

 

Like a child that is suddenly ushered into a sweet stall, not knowing what it

should ask for bewildered by the different varietyies and colours of the sweets,

we the mortals who R blessed with this birth as human beings do not really know

what to aspire for in this valuable JANMA, being drawn and torn to pieces by the

all powerful GUNAS and IndriyAs.

 

Our Acharyas, after in depth understanding of the MAYA's influence on us, have

given us the ONLY possible path for Salvation in this Kali Yuga - SaraNAgathi.

The Lord has also assured that if we cling to His Feet as the ONLY source of

sure way to cross the ocean of SamsAra, He will, without doubt, Bless us with

MOKSHA. But, when this MOKSHA will be accorded is not told by Him, as it is

inevitable for us to exhaust what we are destined to undergo, before we cross

the ocean of SamsAra.

 

While the Lord took the whole of Gita to explain to Arjuna , in fact to all

Jeevatmas. Great Saints , AlwArs and AcharyAs have taught us in a nutshell -

Unqualified Surrender to The Lord is the ONLY way for MOKSHA.

 

The Great Tamil Poet-Saint , THIRUVALLUVAR, has contained in the essence of Gita

in his THIRUKKURAL and that too in the very first ten verses, that unless we

cling to The Feet of The One who has no likes and dislikes, The Lord , one

cannot cross the ocean of SamsArA.

 

The Lord, perhaps felt embarrased to ask human beings to Surrender to Him alone

and so had to give a large preamble upto 17 chapters in Gita to declare finally

in the 18th Chapter that SaraNAgathi is the only way left for mortals to escape

from the cycle of birth and death. Where as His devotees felt free to declare to

the entire Humanity that SaranAgathi is the ONLY way to cross the Ocean of

SamsAra without any hesitation.

 

Let our Great Saints, AcharyAs and Bhagavathothams Bless us to follow The Path

of SaraNAgathi and get rid of the cycle of Jananam & Maranam as is extolled in

many works by them. Adi Sankara's,Bhaja Govindam also points out at the same

path, thus adopting the same solution as worked out by Our EmberumAnAr, Sri

Ramanuja and his followers.

As per the Bhagavadgita, three main paths (Karma, jn~Ana, and bhakti) requiring

efforts and one effortless path (sharaNAgati) are indicated for liberation.

All these paths, with the exception of shraNAgati, may not be able to be

accomplished in one life. That is why, our achAryas advice everyone (who are

relatively more advanced as well as the lowest strata person and gravest

sinners)to perform sharanAgati, as it is the surest way.

 

However,if one does not do SharaNAgati and prefer other paths, there is no loss

in the effort. Even a little goes a long away, though not all the way (swalpam

apyasya dharmasya trAyatE mahatO bhayAt).

 

There is still another issue stated by the Lord in Gita, namely, time of

departure. Among the realized (Brahmavids), those departing during UttarayaNa

six months are not born again (some people wrongly confuse that those who depart

in uttarAyaNa are libertaed.Obviously, this is their wishful thinking!)

The Brahmavids(knower of Brahman) departing during dakshinAyana months are born

again. This may seem like the Lord is discriminating between the Brahmavids,

based on when they depart. However, this is the way Lord assures that there will

be Brahmavids amongst us all the time to guide the rest.

Prahlada appearing as VibhiSHaNa may be one such example of recycling

Brahmavids.

This also explains, how there are realized souls (example Kabir das, Ramakrishna

Paramahans) who had in- born wisdom

(ashixita paTus).
