The U.S. and the world woke up to the glories of Hinduism in the last

century, through the clarion call of Swami Vivekananda. If ,today,

Srivaishnava Sampradayam and its significant tenets have so many votaries in

the U.S., it is in no small measure due to the untiring efforts of Sri Anbil

Swamy.

 

Armed with the mandate of venerated Acharyas like Poundarikapuram Srimad

Andavan, Anbil swamy has toiled hard to convert the nascent seeds of

Srivaishnavism, sown in the barren soil of the west, into a glorious tree in

full bloom, spreading its fragrance in all directions--"yathaa vrikshasya

sampushpitasya dooraat gandho vaati".

 

Be it his magnum opus, "Hinduism Rediscovered", or his labor of love,

"Srirangasri", all his efforts stand eloquent testimony to his commitment

and conviction to the cause of the Sampradayam.

 

And all these, at the ripe old age of four score years, when most of us would

prefer rest and relaxation in the cozy comfort of the easy chair.

 

Let me congratulate the sponsors for their excellent choice and pray to Sri

Malolan to bless Swamy with "innumoru noottraandu", to continue his

kainkaryams with his inimitable and infectious zeal.
