Dear Srimathi Venkatachari :

You asked for a slOkam for printing in the Aayush homam ivitation .

Here are two suggestions : one is long and another is short .

(1) The " SlOkam " ( manthram really ) which is appropriate seeking

Veda PrAyam ( the 100 years of life ) could be used by you :

" pasyEma Saradha : Satham , JeevEma Saradha: Satham ,

nandhama Saradha: Satham , ModhAma Saradha: Satham ,

BhavAma Saradha: Satham , SruNuvAma Saedha: Satham ,

PrabhravAma: Saradha: Satham ,ajeethAsyAma Saradha: Satham

jyOk cha Sooryam dhruSE "

PasyEMa Saradha: Satham = may we be blesed to see Him for hundred years !

JeevEma = may we live for hundred years (following Bhagavath Saasthrams ) !

nandhAma Saradha: Satham = May we sing His praiseand enjoy Him for

Hundred Years !

mOdhAma Saradha: Satham= May we have the Sathsangam of His BhagavathAs

( TadheeyAs) and enjoy the bliss !

bhavAma Saradha: Satham = May we stay on His earth ( LeelA VibhUthi ) as

sahaja Daasan of His with the Svaroopa Jn~Anam !

SruNuvAma Saradha: Satham= May we hear (and reflect upon) His limitless

auspicious attributes !

praBhravAma: Saradha: Satham = May we spek about His glories to overcome

any blemishes in other's speech about Him due to ignorance !

ajeethA : syAma Saradha: Satham= May we stay vcitorious living this way !

(2) Instead of this manthram , you can also consider using

the First slOkam of Sri GopAla Vimsathy of Swamy Desikan :

VandhE BrundhAvanacharam Vallavee Jana vallabham

Jayanthee Sambhavam dhama Vaijaynthee VibhUshaNam

You can access the meaning of this and other slOkams of

Sri GopAla Vimsathy and Desika SthOthrams at:

http://www.sadagopan.org

The Link is AchAryas/Desikan

Have a good aayush-homam celebrations !
