Guest guest
Dear All, Pranams! I beg to differ on description of few incidents happened in Sri Ramanuja's life which I read as portrayed in this list. There are two occasions where Sri Acharya has been mentioned as 'fled' and 'escaped' etc., which I think is wrong. The first incident is when his guru Yadavaprakasha under the grip of jealousy/angry plotted a watery grave for the illustrious disciple. On getting the scent of this plan, Sri Ramanuja was referred to as 'escaped' from the party and headed straight into the jungle where he was shown the path to Kanchi by Lord and his Consort in the guise of hunters. Somehow, I doubt the word 'escape' here. An Adishesha incarnate himself, a Saint of highest calibre and proponent of a Siddhantha cannot be fragile enough to 'escape', that too from his Guru who is of lesser being/jeeva than the illustrated Sri Ramanuja in many aspects. There is something more to it than what it meets the eye. I would think in this way: 1. It is Lord's will to meet his ardent devotee along with his Consort or 2. It is Bhagavan Ramanuja's desire to meet Lord / Consort after being away from Vaikunta. It is another matter that no one knows the dialogues that occurred between them in the jungle as I don't think anyone chronicled it. 'Fled' is the another word implied when referring Sri Acharya who is said to have travelled from TN to Karnataka owing to a Saiva King's indifference in TN and thus graced devotees at Karnataka being in Tirunarayanapuram. This is also the design / will of Narayana or might be Acharya's to glorify Narayana in Melkote and grace devotees in Karnataka. Again, Adisesha incarnate has no reason to fled afraid of a King who is much lower to Acharya in many aspects. He could have his mystic powers on King but the reason behind him not using them shows his unwillingness to use the same on a King when his sole aim is to propogate Siddhantha as Sanyasi. Also this shows his immense krupa for devotees elsewhere and having Lord by his side always he has no reason to 'fled' from TN. To understand great souls like Sri Ramanuja and their action is very difficult for us what with mundane prakruthik indriyas that has loukika tinge in it. They have no reason to fled/escape from any situation much less afraid of limited souls like us. To understand the true purport of their action/life style is what is important in the light of understanding their siddhanthas. My mail is intended just to glorify Sri Acharya and not to hurt his devotees which is not what Acharya likes. Regards sukumar
