Guest guest
Sri: Srimathe Rangaramanuja Mahadesikaya Namaha Dear Sri Shrinidhi, It is certainly very appropriate for qualified prapannas to recite this mantra as well as all other vedic mantras. 1. All vedic mantras (in fact, each "aksharam" of the Veda) are in praise of Hari, i.e. Sriman Narayana - the antaryami of all beings. This has to be kept in mind while reciting. Sri U. Ve. Anantha Narasimhachar Swamy, Srikaryam of Srimath Poundarikapuram Ashramam quotes Maharishi Veda-Vyasa while elaborating this sometime back: http://www.ibiblio.org/sripedia/mpg/pp2.mpg 2. The latest issue of Sri Ranganatha Paduka, there is a clarification to a reader's similar query by one of the foremost authorities of Veda bhashyam today - Sri U.Ve. Ganapadi Mannargudi Desikachar Swami. Certain other "mantras" and "devata-gayatri-s", which are not "apauresheyam" in nature, and have been appended in more recent times can be avoided, but there is no restriction on reciting any part of the Vedam. 3. Not all the divinities mentioned in the Sruti can be directly mapped to namesake mentioned in the Puranas. 4. Please watch and listen to this video clip of Acharya sambhavana offered by some of the most faithful followers of our Srivaishnava sampradayam to Swami Desikan - one of the greatest exponents of Prapatti-marga. Swami Desikan Tirunakshatram, Sept. 2004 at Thoopul - Video5 (mpg download) Acharya Sambhavana http://media.oppiliappan.org/index.html#9850 Hope this helps. ramanuja dasan. Guest guest
swami, This doubt you need not have. Khubera, dikpalaka, aaditya, varuna or anyother devatha are only his ministers. It is only proper that we gothrogh everyone. But after prapatti our hold on his feet should be strong, never leave the thought on feet. I heard this in one of the tamil versions of the suprabatam. thiruthai vazh arul marbha, umakke naam aatpaduvom thivadikke panipurivom, venkatava sharan pugunthom. See the word sharan pugunthom, saying you are the refuge for us refugees. That is what is required, but we all have to follow the vedic kramam in doing all the rituals. We cannot stop doing sandyavandana after prapatti because we appese surya there. dasan/Vj tatachar wrote: Dear Sir, We offer salutation to so many we come across. Guest guest
SRIMATE RAMANUJAYA NAMAHA, It is wrong to say that during sandhya we pray surya.A prapannan nerver prays to anyone other than sriman Narayanan. In sandhya too we pray the antaryamin of surya & not sutya. This is how a gyani prays & hence no karma binds him. dasan On Sun, 04 Sep 2005 Vijaya Raghavan wrote : >swami, > >This doubt you need not have.
