During the afternoon of the third day , adiyEn descended from Thirumala

with a great sense of fulfillment and arrived at Chennai late in the evening .

 

Next morning at 4 A.M , adiyEn's journey continued towards Oppiliappan Sannidhi

,

the place of my birth and the abode of our Kula Dhaivam , DakshiNa

VenkatAchalapathy,

who is considerd as the elder brother of Utthara VenkatEsan of Thirumala . It

was nice

indeed to have the darsanam of both of them in subsequent days . Number of you

know

that Thiruvaheendhrapuram Lord DevanAthan is considered as Nadu Naattu

SrinivAsan

and ANNan Koil PerumAL is also recognized as another SrinivAsa Moortham .

 

On this Iyppasi SravaNam day , It is adiyEn's pleasure to invite You all to have

Today ( Iyppasi SravaNam day) is the ThirukkalyANam day , when the 10 day long

ThirukkalyANa Uthsavam concludes there . For fourty years , adiyEn's Father and

a Famous

BhattAchAryaar ( Our neighbor) by the name of Sri Ponnappa Bhattar conducted

the KalyANa Uthsavam . Many stalwarts of Carnatic Music (Vocal ,

Instrumentalists )

and HarikathA KaalakshEpam expertis (Embar Swamy , Saraswathi Bhai et al)

thronged to offer their Naadha NaivEdhyams to the Lord during these ten days of

the KalyANa Uthsavam . Ariyakkudi Sri Ramanuja IyengAr , GNB , Mathurai Mani ,

VeeNai artists, Flute Maali , Violinist Mysore Chaudiah , Jalatarangam artists ,

Harmonium Subramanya Dheekshithar of Kerala , Palakkad Mani Iyer ,

Great Naathaswara VidwAns like T.N.Rajarathnam PiLlai , Tavil Vidwaans ,Bharata

Natyam (Sathir) exponents took part in these Naahda NaivEdhyams for the Lord of

ThiruviNnagar . All the visiting artists had to be accomodated and fed at our

House .

adiyEn had to run to the local railway station to recieve the artists in

bullock drawn cart

on muddy roads of the rainy season . It is all memorable .

 

The KalyANa Uthsavams of the past four decades do not have the same verve

and high level participation due to the lack of talented organizers .

 

The day after Iyppasi SravaNam is VidAyERRi day , when the Lord "recovers"

as it were from the excessive exertions of the KalyANa Uthsavam season . Back in

1985 , my father made a sAsanam with the Temple authorities that our Family

would

have the unique rights to perform Thirumanjanam for ThiruviNNagarappan on

the Iyppasi VidAyERRi day . Tomorrow is the day of such annual Thirumanjanam

conducted by

our Family . My Father had celebrated His 80th birthday in 1985 and created this

bond

with the Lord on His special day in Iyppasi to recieve Thirumanjana UpachAram

after the hectic KalyANa uthsavam . adiyEn's father , Brahaspathy

Tattai S.VaradAchAr Swamy attained His AchAryan's ( HH Mukkur Azhagiya Singar's)

ThiruvadigaL on VaikAsi VisAgam day , 1987 , when He was 82 years old . During

1974 , He had presented Rathna Kireetams for Uthsavar PerumAL and ThAyAr through

Yaachaka Kaimkaryam . Those Kireetams are a delight to see . The Temple

authorities will

adorn the Lord and His divine consort with those rathna Kireetams on special

days.

On Sri Rama Navami day , Lord Ramachandra and SitA PirAtti adorn the same Rathna

Kireetams .

 

AdiyEn and my sister with the hep of Bhaktha Kotis have presented different

aabharaNams

for Oppiliappan following the trail of our illustrious Father : RathnAngi for

Uthsavar ,

Muthamgis for Moolavars ( PerumAL and ThAyaar ) and Uthsavar dhivya dampathis ,

different

aabharaNams for Uthsavar ThAyaar ( Jadai , NaagAbharaNam et al ) . Close up of

On this Fourth day of this KshEthrAdanam , adiyEn arrived at our native place

to have a special Thirumanjanam for Moolavar as a PoorvAngam for my

Father's SathamAna Uthsavam ( 100th Birth day ) . The SathamAna Uthsavam

itself would be celebrated at Sri Matam , SealyUr under the adhyaksham of

HH Srimath Azhagiya Singar two days later .

 

After the Sankalpam , adiyEn had the treat of witnessing the most beautiful ,

majestic

nithya YuvA ( ILam Kumaran) , ThiruviNNagarappan's Thirumanjanam along

with Paadha Thirumanjanam for the Uthsavars and full Thirumanjanam for

Swamy Desikan . At the appropriate break (after MIlk , Madhuparkam , Manjal

Podi and Sandal Paste Thirumanjanams) , adiyEn recited in front of the Lord

the Special Thirumanjana Kattiyam that adiyEn had composed few years back .

Sankha DhAraa and Sahsara TaarA Theetha abhishEkams took place to complete

the Thirumanjanam . adiyEn was presented with the Vasthram used by the Lord

during His Thirumanjanam . Yeera Vaadai Theetham and Santhanam were

distributed . An Hour later , alankArams were completed and we had the adhbhutha

darsanam of the Lord with His dhivyAyudhams , SaaLagrAma Maalai, PeethAmbharam

and flower garlands . We felt fulfilled . After Bhagavath PrasAdham , adiyEn

stayed

for an hour at "SatakOpa Bhavanam " , the house in Sannidhi Street built by my

Father

in 1961 on the foundation of our earlier home there .

 

After that Five hour visit to my native place , adiyEn stopped at KumbakONam to

meet

the reputed Gold Smith chosen by ThiruvEnatamudayAn to design and construct the

Kempu

Kireetam for Himself and His Ubhaya NaacchiyArs . That night adiyEn returned

late to

Chennai to get ready to meet HH Srimath Azhagiya Singar for preparations on

the Centennial Celebrations for my revered Father , whom Srimath Azhagiya Singar

knew well in His PoorvAsramam days .
