Guest guest
Here is my first day of the Divya Desam trip. Before i proceed.....i will let you know about the trip first. It was a 5 days trip. We started on the night of Dec 27th, 2000 and finished the tour on the 1st of jan 2001.On our first day we landed in Tiruchi and saw all the Temples in and around Tiruchi. We hired a taxi which we incidentally kept for the whole trip. Infact we travelled all places only by the taxi. It is very economical and worthy since you can save a lot of time.Anyway, at the end of the 1st day we had seen about 6 temples. The following are the Temples we visited, in order : 1)Thiru Anbil - Vadivazhagia Nambi 2)Thirukkarambanur(Uththamar koil) 3)Thiru vellarai 4)Thiruppernagar(Koviladi,Appakkudaththan) 5)Thirukkozhi(Uraiyuur,nikaLaapuri,uRanthai) 6)Srirangam( Arangam,Thiruvarangam,Koyil) The 1st day was a really enjoyable one because the weather was cold and a cool wind was blowing constantly. Also the sun was absent on that day. The gushing of the rivers were a music to ears. Anbil was a nice and newly renovated temple. So it clean and good. We had good darshan.Karambanur was very crowded. We heard it is always crowded on thursdays (auspicious day for this Lord). Then Thiruvellarai. A huge temple with huge walls surrounding it. We had a great darshan of the Lord Sri Pundarikaakshan. The Battar was also very friendly and we still have contact with him. Then we had lunch and went on to koviladi by evening. Lord Sri Appakudathan was a real treat to see. Incidentally, He is the one and only Perumal who wears a Dasavataram belt around His waist. We ate Appams in that temple. Then we went to Kozhiur. Nice temple and great darshan. The Lord has his Chakra in sideways ready to use it. Very near from Tiruchi. From there it was a hurri-burri for Srirangam. Luckily we were just on time for darshan. Sri Ranganathar was as always fabulous. I don't think that there is a need to explain anything about this temple. Number one Divya desam with 11 alwars visiting It. Huge, Tremendrous and Powerful. That was the first day of our trip. We had a quick dinner and retired to our room very tired but happy. The next day was a big day as we planned to visit the temples around Thanjavur. I will tell you about it in my next message. I will also upload the Gopurams pics of 2 or 3 temples as soon as possible. Om Namo Narayanaya Namaha.Om Namo Venkatesaya Namaha. Mail Plus - Powerful. Guest guest
Dear Ramarathnamji, Its a great honour to have you among us. To have the Darshan of Sriman Narayanan in 76 Divya Desams is something very great. Emperuman has been very generous to you and your family and i bow my head to you in great respect. Regarding Saligramam, its in Nepal(I believe you know that). During those days a minimum of 15 people must go at a stretch. If the number was less, then the group weren't allowed inside Nepal. But nowadays, things have changed a lot. There are a lot of travel agencies who undertake trips to many Divya Desams in the north including Saligramam. May be you can contact any one such agencies. Their Ads will come in many famous magazines. If you know Chennai very well, there is Parthasarathy travels in Triplicane(Sri Parthasarathy Perumal Sthalam). They offer good service and is also economical. I hope this will give you some idea for the trip. Have a great time seeing the Lord. Two eyes are not enough to see Him. Thank You, Om Namo Narayanaya Namaha. Om Namo Venkatesaya Namaha. --- vrrathnam <vrrathnam wrote: > Swamin, > Thank you very much for approving my membership > request. > My wife and the humble self have so far visited 76 > Divya Desam. Guest guest
REspected SWAMIN, Thank you very much for the reply. Adiyen is a small fry compared to anyone. The reason for my requesting you for the route to Saligramam is because the humble self is physically handicapped. Lost hip in a road accident. If we travel in a group because of my position others are put to a lot of trouble. Hence for the last two years we go alone so that if the travel becomes a bit too much we rest for a while and continue. This may not be possible in a group. However taking your kind tip we will enquire them the easiest route. By the Grace Of our Achryan we are hopeful of visiting the Shrine.
