"minnin-nuNN-idai madakkodi kAraNam vilangalin misai Ilankai mannan neeN-mudi

podi seytha maindan idam maNi varai..."

 

The extraordinary slimness(nuNN) of the waist (idai) of SitA Piratti is

compared here to the width of a lightning (minnal). One of the divine mark of

beauty of Jaanaki MaathA ( Her SaamudhrikA lakshaNam) is the thinnestof the

thin waists. Her physical beauty of an unparalleled kind is matched only by Her

aathma guNams befittinga pathivrathA SirOnmaNi (the crown jewel among the

Chastewomen ). Kaliyan refers to Her Aathma GuNam of "madappam ", when he

describes Her as "Madakkodi". Madappam is NaaNam or adakkam . By the choice of

the word "Madakkodi", Kaliyan salutes both Her ThirumEni Azhagu ( tender

creeper-like physical beauty ) and Her aathma guNams (Spiritual Attributes). It

is for the sake of this lady (wife) with the amalgam of physical beauty and

spiritual qualities (Madakkodi KaaraNam) , Raamachandran invaded Lankaand

ascended the peak of Thrikooda mountain , foughtwith the evil Raavanan there

and pulverized his tall ten heads in a fierce battle

that the home of this Raghuveeran , who destroyed RaavaNan is indeed the dhivya

dEsam of ThiruvahIndhrapuram

(Myndhan idam ThiruvaheendhrapuramE).Kaliyan addressesRaamachandran as "Myndhan

" here to remind us thatour Lord took the human incarnation as the son of

DasaraTan ( DasaraTa Myndhan).
