Dear BhakthAs :

 

Karnataka is a special region for SrI VaishNavaas due to

the association with the Thiruvadi dust of AchArya RaamAnuja ,

Swamy ParAsara Bhattar , Nanjeeyar , Swamy Desikan ,

Brahma Tantra ParakAla Matam Jeeyar I , KumAra VaradAcchAr

Swamy and SrI Adhi VaNN SaThakOpa Jeeyar of Ahobila Matam

and other present day AchAryAs .

 

The fabled Karnataka Region has wonderful Sri VaishNavite Temples

from one end to the other , many of which are not well known . The Ones

at Thiru NaarAyaNapuram ( Melkote) , Uduppi , Chenna Kesava PerumAL

Temple near Hasan , AprEmaya Temple at Doddanallur attract many

devotees . The ArchA Murthis worshipped at these temples are most beautiful and

the alankArams done for them by the Bhattars are a treat

for the eye . Located often on the banks of life giving Cauvery river ,

these temples are surrounded by extraordinary natural beauty .

 

We are indebted to Sri Sridhar Lakshminarasimhan of Bangalore

for introducing us to some 20 Sri VaishNavite temples of Karnataka

in the first pass and create a web site that contains information on

Sthala PurANam , Images of the Deities worshipped and Travel directions

as well as the contacts (Archakars or Trustees ) at these temples for

a visitor .

 

Hearty Congratulations are due to Sri Sridhar for his artistic creativity

and tireless work in assembling all these multimedia Data . More coverage

is being planned by Sri Sridhar during the coming weeks .

 

Sri Sridhar has already created wonderful CD ROMs on Thiruneermalai ,

Thuppul and a pictorial study of Swamy Desikan's Vaibhavam

(Chithra Desikeeyam) .

 

May the Dhivya Dampathis bless Sri Sridhar with more Kaimakrya Sri and

shower him with all Their choicest blessings !
