Guest guest
namban The Dependable On Whom does one depend on? -On one who can solve one's problems. -On One who is a natural relartive- nirpAdhika bandhu -On One who has all the powers -On One who has grace and compassion. What do we find, however? We find people thronging other deities who are also ordinary souls. It is synonymous of leaking boats seeking refuge in sinking boats -pUrvAchAryAs put it thus "OTTai ODathODu ozhugal ODam" Sri thirumangai AzhwAr shows the most dependable one in whom we can have complete refuge in. In whom we can trust, In whom we can rest our burden. In whom we can have mahA viswAsam and He is the Lord at nAdhan kOil and termed by sri kaliyan as "namban" -endha samayathilum nammai kai-vidAn enRu nambudhaRkuriyavan. In fact it is said that one of the pancha-grAmam-s now being known as 'namman kuRichi' gets its name from this Lord and was known as 'namban kuRichi" as the Almighty was devoutly and divinely taken from nAdhan kOil to that place and installed-predhistai. The pAsuram goes as follows: 'namban vuRaiginRa nagar, nandhi-pura viNNagaram nannu manamEA' 5-10-5; dAsan vanamamalai padmanabhan
