mAm yEAkam-mA-sucha

nE paNitha aruL ennumOL-vAL vuruvi eRindhEan

I used to wonder why the divinve words 'mA-sucha' is sparkling on the divine

hands of Sri Oppiliappan.

Having realised that the accumulated sins cannot be diluted by experiencing the

effects for ages and ages, AzhwAr mentions that he has decimated them to zero

in one stroke. How is that?

The Grace of the Lord fell on AzhwAr. The Grace 'mAm-yEakam' -- I am your

refuge. This blessing is used by thirumangai mannan as a spear to

comprehensively eradicate the cause effects of the deeds.

This can also be clearly understood from the AchArya Hrdhaya sUthram 104

"vinai thURRai oL vAL vuruvi eRindhu'

The thirumozhi -p-pAsuram

'nE paNitha auL ennum oL vAL vuruvi eRindhEan.." 6-2-4 of Periya ThiruMozhi.

points to this fact.

Oh! Lord the Grace of charama-slOkam acted like a sword to destroy all the

effects of the deeds in one stroke.
