Dear SrEvaishNavites,

It was seen that Sri thirumangai mannan surrenders at the feet of Lord

Oppiliappan with pirATTi's purushakAram.

This pAsuram highlights the effect of pirATTi by the term

"thAmAraiyAL...kOthA"

Sri sAdagopan swAmy goes on to explain the meanings of the final two pAsuram-s

of the second thirumozhi of the sixth ten.

, Kaliyanrevealed the phalan of reciting the ten paasurams of this decad .Periya

dEvi andto the DevAs living in Indhira lOkam ! Oh blemishless Messenger ,who

mediated as the ambassador on behalf of the PaaNDavAsin the middle of many

ruling kings ! Oh Lord with sacred Speech(vaak) ! Oh the quintessence of VedhAs

shining as the bright jyOthiin my mind ! adiyEn has now surrendered at Your

sacred Thiruvadiand seek Your anugraham .Special Notes :*******************At

this dhivya dEsam , there is only one NaacchiAr , BhUmi Devi ( Pulavi) .At SrI

Vaikuntam , the Lord is seated with Sri Devi , BhUmi Deviand NeeLA Devi on His

throne of Adhi Seshan . At this dhivya dEsamsung by Kaliyan and three other

AzhwArs , the Lord wed BhUmi Deviand agreed to Sage MarkaNDEyar's prayer to

stay foreverat ThiruviNNagaram . Here , BhUmi DEvi , the young bride staysin a

kneeling position next to the Lord at His right side ; MahA Lakshmi, the Lotus

lady takes up Her residence at the Lord's Chest .The Nithya Sooris and the

DevAs are positioned at the Lord'ssacred feet . He is dear to them all ( pOthu

aar ThAmarayALpulavi kula vaanavar tamm KOthA ! ) .ThiruviNNagarappan went as

PaaNDava dhUthan to negotiatethe rightful share for the PaaNDavAs at the court

of the evilDuryOdhanan populated by the assembly of kings friendly tothe

KouravAs ( KOthil senkOl kudai mannaridai nadantha DhUthA ! ) .The Lord of

ThiruviNNagar as RaamAvathAran utteredthe sacred words at Sethukkarai that

defined His vowto protect anyone , who sought His refuge even once .The Lord

of ThiruviNNagaram as KrishNAvathAranuttered HIs ThU Mozhi of Charama slOkam

and assured Arjunafreedom from fear after performing prapatthi to Him

..ThiruviNNagrappan as BhUvarAhan spoke the ThUmozhi ofVarAha Charama slOkam in

response to the plea of BhU Devito save their suffering children from SamsAric

afflictions .He performed upadEsam for BrahmA on the ThU Mozhi ofthe sacred

Vedams . Thus , the Lord of ThiruviNNagaramis the originator of many sacred

utternaces . Reflecting on allthese anugrahams and upadEsams , Kaliyan

addresses the Lordas ThUmozhiyAi in this Paasuram .Kaliyan through the benefit

of ripe Jn~Ana yOgam was able toexperience the presence of ThiruviNNagarappan

as the Param JyOthiin his heart lotus . Kaliyan experienced ThiruviNNagarappan

asthe antharyAmi Brahman and saluted Him as " JyOthishAm JyOthi: " ,the Light

of Lights . Mundaka Upanishad salutes this "Sudar JyOthi "as " Him the shining

One , every thing shines after , by this light allthis is lighted ( tamEva

BhAndham anubhAthi sarvam tasya bhAsAsarvam idham vibhAthi ) . ChAndhOgya

Upanishad ( III.12.6) revealsthe connection between the " Sudar JyOthi " inside

the heart lotus asantharyAmi Brahman and the Supreme light ( JyOthi) shining

inSri Vaikuntam : " Now the light which shines above this heaven ,above all ,

above every thing , in the highest worlds beyond whichthere are no higher

worlds , verily , that is the same as the lightwhich is here within the person

" . This explanation is endorsed byBadarAyaNA's Brahma Soothram : "

JyOthis-charaNAbhidhAnaath "It means that the cosmic light is Brahman because

of the reference tothe part or feet in the Upanishad ( Brhaman has four parts )

: " Suchis the greatness of it : greater than it is the Supreme Person .One

foot or aprt of it represents all the beings in the universe ,while the other

three parts ( thripAdh ) are in immortal higherdomain ( amrutham dhivi ) . The

same supreme Being , who isconnected with the other three-quarters of the

higher abode isreferred to in the ChAndhOgya Upanishad as the light

connectedwith the higher domain (atha parO dhivO jyOthi ) .Periya Thirumozhi
