Dear SrEvaishNavites,

The next example given by Sri kula-sEkarAzhwAr is

1. The bird on the mast and the ship.

"engum pOi karai kANAdhu eRi kadal vAi mENDEyaum-vangathin kUmbERum mA-pARAvai

pOnREAnEa --perumAL thirumozhi 5-5;

A ship on the high seas will not have any land in the vicinity on any of the

sides. A bird on the mast, even if it tries to go on all the sides will not be

able to find land.

Similarly, Oh! Lord of vithuvak-kOTe, I do not have any refuge but onlythis

divya-dhEsam, is AzhwAr's plea.

2.The next is the Lotus and the sun.

"sen-thazhalEa vandhu azhalaich seidhidinum, sen-kamalam

venkathiRoRkallAl alarAvAl ' perumAL thiru-mozhi 5-6;

The Lotus blossoms on seeing the sun. It blushes to witness the Adithyan.

Instead of it, if one takes fire near to it, it will be burnt but not blossom.

However, the sun far-far away makes it blossom.

Likewise, Oh! vitthuvakOTe Lord, I will not melt but for cherishing Your auspicious qualities.

(to be continued)
