Dear SrEvaishNavites,

 

The examples given by Sri kula-sEkarAzhwAr are realistic and has to be

approached in tandem with the spirit of ananyArhathvam and unflinching

devotion.

 

This perumAL thiru-mozhi was recalled just to show how examples should be and not otherwise.

 

A fundamental question may arise here.

 

Why should one conisder that the Lord is giving difficluties to us and despite

that we should stick to HIm and none else?

 

Is these diffcultities not our making? Are these travails our kArmic effects.

 

AzhwAr says ';tharu-thuyaram'. The difficulties inflicted by You ! Oh Lord of vithuvak-kOTe.

 

Here, Sri peiryavAchAn piLLai's vyAkyAnam is wondeful. A normal vyAkyAna-karthA

would have just mentioned the meaning -tharu-thuyaram --the difficluties given

by You, Oh! Lord, let it be removed by YOu.

 

A good commentator goes beyond this and questions. The difficulties arises due

to ones karmic effects. These should be removed by methods prescribed and

practices given therein sAsthram and vEdhAs.

 

However, in case of prapaNNAs they believe that the Lord only can remove all the

difficulties and He is the means to attain Him. Kula-sEkarAzhwAr is one soul who

convincingly believes so. Therefore, he mentions -tharu-thuyaram thaDAyEal.

 

That is why perhaps, periya-vAchAn piLLai is considered as vyAkyAna-chakravarthy.

 

I thank one and all who were instrumental in triggering these thoughts in my mind.
